Stayed for 1 night in early July. Booked in with no notice and the recommended a package which included dinner with wine, bed & breakfast at £ 90. Took it and have no regrets. The room was huge with a separate ensuite which is well appointed. Dinner was excellent as was the wine and the view over the countryside was... More

The location is superb - close to the cities, less than 30mins to Newcastle, but tucked away in the peace and quiet of the country side. The perfect balance! The hotel itself is pleasant. I stayed in one of the newly refurbished 'cottages', though it was more bling than country chic. Not to my personal taste, but nice to have... More

Tucked away in the middle of the countryside with lovely views all around. We were upgraded to a suite which was excellent. The Guinevere restaurant is a charming place to eat and the food was very good, we had the normal menu on the first night and had the supplemented menu on the second and both were great. We also... Very nice stay , Hotel and room were lovely and we enjoyed our swim and sauna after a long hot day. The staff were friendly and the evening meal was excellent The Breakfast was disappointing in quality with a limited choice and only scrambled eggs available

Our whole visit from start to finish was incredible. When we arrived Alison on recepetion was so welcoming and friendly and explained everything that we needed to know. We were blown away by our suite and if it is available when you book it is certainly worth the extra money as my wife and I have both said that is... More

The hotel is well situated in the country with wonderful rural views with and easy access to both Newcastle, Durham and historic Northumbria. The Roman wall and associated historic sites are only fifteen miles away.

We were offered a 2 night stay through our timeshare company at an unbelievable price, including 2 breakfasts and dinner on the first night, so just had to try it. The hotel looked very grand on approach standing in lovely grounds, in fact a wedding was in full swing as we drove down the long drive. The hotel is quite... More

Tired bathroom, poor working shower. Not enough towels etc for 3 sharing the room. Leisure facilities dirty, pool too small for the hotel size. The changing room was out of use, my husband had to change in a disabled loo, unhygienic! We were not warned about this. Food was poor quality I had to complain. Over charged on the final... More
