I booked Spanhoe Lodge as I buried my Mum in her home village of Laxton and I live too far away to make it a day trip. Jennie was so friendly and helpful and made what could have been a dreary stay a pleasant one. I went up with one of my Mums friends and Jennie gave us a lovely... More

What a find! We had booked our short stay of 4 nights to break the long journey home frorm Scotland, and were delighted with everything about Spanhoe Lodge. Jennie and Steve made us very welcome, and our room was spacious , immaculate and had stunning views to open farmland. We loved being able to sit out in the evening, enjoy... More

5 Stars - it claims 3 stars its worth. Rooms are nice but not overly special. Some nice touches but not enough to make it memorable. Service is very plastic and lacks sincerity. The "stunning breakfast" is disappointing and roundly beaten by somewhere as basic as Premier Inn. Won't be rushing back!!

A warm welcome awaits any one staying at the Spanoe Lodge. We stayed for just one night but would have loved to have stayed longer. Our room was really comfortable and everything had been well thought out. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, with lots of choice. The hosts, a husband and wife team, were so friendly and accommodating, nothing seemed... More

We have a rule of never going back to the same hotel but we had to make an exception at Spanhoe Lodge. Our first visit was in 2008 and it was the best place we have ever stayed at. We were worried that Jennie and Steve could not meet our previous visit but they were the same super couple and... More

We spent the weekend at Spanhoe Lodge with two other couples, to celebrate a 50th. birthday, and also to visit friends who moved to Uppingham twelve months ago. We had a lovely time, made extra special by the warm welcome, the comfortable room, with every conceivable little extra and the superb breakfast. We should definitely make a return visit. Thank... It was a little hard to find, just keep going through the village and you will see it on the right hand side. Jennie was a brilliant hostess even giving me a short cut to the area of Corby I needed through the country side which was well worth it. The welcome was friendly , the room great (loved the... More

A warm welcome, a room with extremely well thought out details and a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The owners, Jennie and Steve, are helpful, personable and attentive and provided us with the feeling of being looked after in a relaxed way. It was refreshing to have the extras in the bedrooms that you don't find in 4 and 5 star hotels.... More

Great little hotel in a beautiful location. I had a lovely welcome on arrival and was even asked if I wanted to see my room before I chose which one to have. Bed was lovely and comfy and the towels were super soft. Breakfast was delicious and reasonably priced unike some other larger hotel chains. I would have no hesitation... More

This is only our second stay in a Bed and Breakfast. We stayed for two nights. Our room (No 2) was spacious with nice furnishings and a bathroom with bath and shower over, fluffy bath sheets and good toiletries. The breakfasts were really great with a wide choice. Our hosts Jennie and Steve were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The... More
