The Fox at Farthinghoe is great if you want a no nonsense and decent place to stay in the Brackley and Banbury area. The Fox is a great country pub with about five rooms in what was probably a converted barn or stable. Our room was not large but spacious enough for a one night stay. It had the necessary... More

The Fox is a pleasant pub in a small village on the A422 between Banbury and Brackley. We chose it as we were attending an event nearby and wanted somewhere to stay which didn’t cost a fortune, as we would literally just need to be there to eat and sleep. The pub was going through a change of management when... More

Food was all very nice and good portions. For the most part, staff were friendly and attentive. A very pleasant atmosphere in a beautiful old building. I would definitely give this pub a try if you're in the area.

Overall very disappointed. The pub was in good condition and the staff were friendly. The food was ok but over priced. Where things really went downhill was in the accommodation. The rooms are simply not up to modern day standards. Sound carries from adjoining rooms very easily due to the converted stable building. The bed sheets were clean, but the... More

This was a last minute booking through one of the sites that specialises in such things. Very warm welcome, shown to my room, lovely and quirky (converted stable), plenty of room, consisting of double bed, bedside table, writing desk & chair and digital tv. Bathroom consisted of toilet, sink and shower. Plenty of room for all bathroom activities, not too... More

This is the second time we have stayed at the fox. The village is beautiful and the fox is a great village pub with converted stables into rooms. The rooms are small, great for two people who need a bed for the night. There is a small window so if you like a view this is not for you. The... More

Thoroughly enjoyable evening - very friendly bubbly waitress and chef, attentive and jolly, good menu choices which were delicious. We were all thrilled with the evening meal celebrating a birthday. Good value, would highly recommend The Fox. Sue Taylor

Very quaint, very small converted rooms in an old stable block. The rooms themselves were very clean and the bathroom was spotless. We really appreciated the bottled water, selection of hot drinks and biscuits that were available in the room. The bedding was clean and the décor was very nice. A really snuggly, cosy place to rest our weary heads... More

Didn't stay over just went for a meal. Was very tasty pork a little dry and chips not so good but the rest of the food was delicious. Staff always friendly and attentive. The pub itself has a lovely feel to it. Overall very enjoyable. Was sat a a table with comfortable chairs but wouldn't say appropriate dining chairs. I... More

We were greeted by a friendly man and shown to our room which was converted stables which had been done tastefully. Man was very relaxed about our check out time in the morning and told us to put keys in the letterbox. Did however take the money straight away. Do take slippers as bathroom floor freezing. Modest basket of tea... More
