We stayed in Poachers lodge 13 and saw a badger on the deck twice- once when we were in the hot tub. Very friendly (greedy) squirrels, birds and a pheasant each day as well. Lodge just what you'd want and staff very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend the american diner on the A64 just a 5 minute drive away. Could... More

Just returned from stay there for 3rd time. Highly recommend Family Premier type lodge. Just 2 x small niggles - 1. Would have thought the master bedroom would be hot tub end of decking, as any late night dips can wake children up as tub's outside their window. 2. No 3G / 4G till at least the rather poor attempt... More

We went to the lodge as we recently got Harry our little Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and needed a UK holiday, we normally go abroad but we were pleased with the location and the lodge in general, very warm and well equiped, hot tub was brilliant. We had a Gardeners Premier with 2 four poster beds ideal for two couples.... More

Just returned from a 3 night mini-moon after our honeymoon in New York and have to say what a beautiful place it is. We'd been so busy in New York that Griffon Forest was the perfect place to relax afterwards. Originally we were booked into a lodge in Ullswater but there was a problem with it so we were offered... Have returned from a two night break here. All I can say is that if you like to be secluded and have no noise at all then this place is for you. We stayed in Lodge 50 which is dog friendly, I have a puppy Springer Spaniel and this lodge backs onto a field which was ace for my puppy.... More

Stumbled across this hidden beauty by accident when frantically looking for a last minute break (as men are useless and my boyfriend left it until the last minute haha) and I could not have asked for anything more! The booking process was quick and simple and the staff were very helpful when I was deciding what sort of lodge I... More

I stayed here for a long weekend with my husband and mum to celebrate their same-day birthday and also my mums recovery from a heart bypass operation. We stayed in lodge 23 and were totally blown away by how beautiful and cosy it was! We had two identical bedrooms with four poster beds, my mum was over the moon with... More

This was our second visit to Griffon Forest (we booked our second while we were there on our first visit we loved it so much) The lodges are amazing and the care and attention paid to small details (fresh flowers, milk and biscuits in the fridge on arrival) make it all the more welcoming. There's nothing better than sitting in... More

Found this gem by chance whilst searching for last minute break. Perfect for unwinding, friendly helpful staff who showed us how everything worked. The dog loved the freedom of all the off site walks. Hot tub was lovely.Visited Scarborough,Whitby ,Castle Howard (didn't go in very expensive)& Malton. No wifi & limited phone coverage..idyllic. Ignore the recent negative comments, who would try... More
