We love the Yorkshire Dales and have stayed at a number of locations including Grassington. We were looking for a change and came upon the Craven Arms by chance. It had just been purchased by a local farmer and converted into the current accommodation. We were early visitors and have returned several times since. The location is ideal for exploring... More

Had a lovely 2 night break shortly after the new year with my girlfriend and the pet pooch Rocky. Owner and staff couldn't have been any more friendly and efficient. Got moved into a larger room at no extra cost which was nice and we didn't even ask for it. Only planned to eat first night in the craven but... More

Fab food, breakfast and dinner. Great service, nothing was too much trouble. We where moved to a bigger room on our arrival without having to ask. When we set off to walk into settle the manager stopped us and provided us with a torch incase it was dark on the walk back. We where given the option of flexible check... More

Just back from a stay here and it was superb! We are a group of four female walkers and we shared the family room...perfectly adequate and only £26.25 each! We arrived very early but our room was ready and we were able to drop our bags off before exploring the area and the town of Settle. The room had twin... More

This was our first break with a pet having recently acquired a cocker spaniel puppy. Everyone at the hotel was most welcoming and helpful. We were told of local points of interests and walks for our dog. The owner was brilliant very personable and attentive to detail. The big surprise at the hotel was the quality of the food it... We booked the Craven Arms last minute for an overnight stop heading North by train. We could have not been more pleased with our stay. The room was warm and comfortable, our meal in the restaurant excellent (we are strict vegetarians) the Sticky Toffee Pudding was exceptionally good! We were impressed with the friendliness of Nick and his staff and... More

Poor service on arrival, room clean but very disapointing with creaking floorboards above and I don't just mean a small creak (very loud) was mentioned at check out and response was a shrug of the shoulders. No mention of the main road outside the rooms window. Food nice staff friendly but under trained, disapointing bar area with only one sofa... More

On arrival there was one member of staff on the bar, hence we had a 15 minute wait to check-in (after waiting for the bar man/Landlord to serve drinks to others). The room was nice and clean/tidy, however, the heating was only on at certain times through the day so we were unable to turn the heating up at our... More
