We recently stayed at this riverside inn. We were greeted by Bill and received a warm welcome. The room was very good, clean and the bed linen was fresh. No problems at all with this room. The restaurant, given the riverside location has huge potential. We found the food rather ordinary bordering on bland. However we did eat it........no further... More

We had decided to get married over the Christmas period and had around 10 weeks to get planning. We had eaten at the Grove before and it was fantastic. I enquired to see if they would have us for our wedding and they happily accepted. From the off Bill, the manager, was so helpful. Helping me to create this rustic... More

Not very clean & bad nights sleep! Restaurant grubby - bits of food left on tables and also in the candle plates. There was food underneath one of the tables for the whole of our stay! Bathroom - hairs in the sink and the shower looked like it hadn't been cleaned (it has left over shower gel from the previous... More

Unfortunately, this Inn did not live up to our expectation. We stayed 2 nights and were quite happy to leave. Yes, the setting by the river is great, and if you are a birdwatcher, you couldn't get any closer to Stodmarsh nature reserve, it's 2 minutes across the road. Should you get wet however, and want to hang up your coat,... More

Being a 'local' we are used to this place however we came on Sunday to find its been taken over by a lovely chap who has really made this place a modern place to visit with a country twist and retained its charm & character that Grove Ferry has always possessed on a chilly Winter evening :) The animals here... A dark Monday night in November is the wrong time to appreciate the Grove Inn fully, in its beautiful riverside setting, but I tried anyway. A cosy-looking welcoming building looms up out of the dark. The bar, albeit empty, is also cosy and welcoming. I looked for real ale hand-pumps for some while – then I realised there are five... Stylish and lovely restaurant in a beautiful location. What really made it for us, a family of 6 celebrating a birthday, was the absolutely outstanding assistance provided by warm, cheerful, helpful and sympathetic staff. The food was delicious with generous portions. Super outdoor area with tables by the river and a garden with home-grown herbs & poultry that the children... More

Beautiful position on the river. Canterbury and the Coast just a few miles away. Food excellent and extensive choice for breakfast. Bed incredibly comfortable. Staff helpful and friendly. Enjoyed early morning walk around the grounds visiting the chickens, pigs and ducks, and stroll along the river. We will be returning in the spring.
