A wonderfully friendly and enthusiastic team who seem to thoroughly enjoy delivering excellent service. Serving good food from an interesting menu, The Grove as a venue sits delightfully at the quirky end of charming. We loved it and will be back.

Wonderful food, friendly staff, lovely rooms and a great location. Ideal place to stay if you want to visit Canterbury being ten minutes from the center of town. Highly recommended to all, had a fantastic two night stay and will definitely return.

I appreciate Sunday lunch is going to be busy but to wait 1hour for your food is pretty poor. It took 20 mins of queuing just to order the food, which arrived without a knife and fork which resulted in another trip to the bar! Leftovers of the table's previous occupants resided on our table until our food arrived. The... More

The owners are clearly trying to do something different, and mostly succeeding. The bar/restaurant area is wonderful, the whole ambience and enthusiasm of the staff is really lovely. With a little more investment and addressing the issues others have mentioned in reviews on other sites, it could move up a notch. My issues/observations which management could I hope constructively engage... More

Went for lunch today with my family. It was our first visit so didn't know what to expect. We arrived and parked easily. Immediately we weere greeted on the front lawn by snorts... much to my daughter's delight were two very cute pigs in their (very clean and well looked after) pen. So after saying hello and dodging the falling... More

Spent 1 night at the hotel. It was very quirky, interesting and inviting. The staff were lovely and made us feel at home. We had dinner and breakfast which were very nice. There could have been more choice on the menu for dinner. The bedrooms were different. The bathrooms were a little outdated but sufficient.also there could have been a... More

We only stayed for one night, but loved the place and the people. Lovely location, nice quirky atmosphere and decor, good food, all of which was greatly enhanced by the team, with specific mention for Megan, Katie, Louise and Jules. Good luck to the Grove Ferry and Yummy Pubs. I don\'t normally give 5 stars but you guys deserve it.

Lovely quaint pub and restaurant. Rooms charming with lots of character. The menu is varied and the children's menu was good value and plentiful. The staff are friendly without being intrusive and nothing is too much trouble. Definitely worth a visit if just for a meal, a stay or a pint of local ale. The food is sourced locally and... More
