Great stay although only one night. Leaving from Stellenbosch, on a motorcycle, early morning in pouring rain, with the temperature not getting much over 10 degrees all day, it was a welcome sight to find my very cosy, very warm room waiting for me. Beer in the fridge, electric blankets and water so hot you could pluck a chicken. After... More

We recently stayed overnight at Kuilfontein after a holiday in the Eastern Cape. The owner was fantastic, made a real effort to make sure my kids were happy (they are 5 and 2) and went the extra mile during our stay. The rooms are comfortable (if not particularly beautiful), with plenty of blankets, heaters and even electric blankets for the... More

Just off the N! this guest farm is ideal for a stop-over en route to JHB from CPT. Sandra is a lovely host and her son who runs the Farm stall down the road stocked us up for our journey. The rooms are not elaborate and the shower was a bit suspect but it was perfectly fine for our needs.... More

Kuilfontein is a super-convenient, comfortable and friendly farm B&B, just off the N1 and about 600kms south of Johannesburg, making it a great way to break the journey to or from the Cape. Sandra Staples is a great host, the new rooms are very pleasant, unless you need air conditioning or a television. The food is good farm fare. All... More

We stayed at Kuilfontein overnight on our way home and enjoyed it very much. We opted for the dinner bed and breakfast package which was great, our host Sandra was so welcoming and our room was comfortable with a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities with fresh milk for us to use. Drinks with other guests in the lounge... More

My husband and I stopped over at Kuilfontein on return from Johannesburg to fetch a puppy - it was amazing to find a place that would accommodate us on our long journey with our little four legged friend. However even more amazing was the wonderful warm welcome from Sandra, who is perfect as a host in the hospitality industry, she... More

South Africa is endowed with special farm stalls and accommodation, and this is one of the loveliest. Even if you don't spend the night, and are not treated to some very special southern Free State cuisine at dinner, you'll find the lunch at the farm stall right next to the N1 special, and served briskly and with a smile. While... More

Stopped over on our trip back home after a lovely holiday at the coast. Lovely farm environment close to the N1. Very cosy and welcoming - drinks at 17:30 on the lawn - and great value as you have a 3 course meal with some farm favorites as part of the rate.

Second time to stay there and second we felt heartily welcome. The room is nicely furnished and decorated, it is clean and equipped with all you need. The fact that there is no TV is merely positive. The perfect stopover on the way to Johannesburg or Cape Town. Good value for money. We will use it again.

My family and I have been in this guest farm twice this year. First time was an extremely pleasant surprise. Second time did not disappoint our expectations, all the opposite. The rooms are very well maintained, clean and well furnished. Beds are very comfortable with electric blankets in winter. Dinners and breakfast are yummy and abundant...My boys loved them! Great food!... More
