Mary Kay has said everything I might have but I do have to say that, contrary to what Lyn says, the rooms on the ground floor were very ample and somehow I even got a very commodious suite, #106. There are terraces, oodles of roses, fountains, flowers, swans and some wonderful old trees. Interesting irrigation ditches throughout the property. Recently... More

Casa Real is less than an hour outside Santiago, but it's a world away from the city's urban bustle. The original manor house on the Santa Rita Winery estate, it has an old world charm and elegance and many modern amenities. The rooms are on the small side and a bit plain, but the common rooms are elegant and spacious.... More

Imagine getting off of a red-eye from Miami in the early morning hours and being whisked away to paradise by way of Chilean wine country. With the mountains as a backdrop, and amidst the early morning fog, a stately looking man opens up a large wooden gate. Just like in a movie, your car drives into the courtyard of the... More

My husband and I were guests of the Santa Rita Winery and ended up having the whole hotel and grounds to ourselves for 2 nights. This is NOT typical. We were told they only let people reserve rooms if at least 5 rooms are filled by a group. The staff was top notch. They didn't hover but were around if... More

Our wine tour group stayed here for two nights. The building is beautiful, and there is a real sense of history here. Our room ("Merlot") was quite large and well-appointed. We had an excellent dinner at the hotel on one of the evenings, and were also impressed with the breakfasts, which featured table service rather than the more usual buffet.... More

It's not cheap, but the manager welcomed us as we drove into the court yard. The room was huge, the gardens superb, the food very good, service excellent and the wine unending. The real test of any hotel is would you be happy go back and our answer is yes.
