We stayed 3 nights at Cascada de Animas in the Bordo Rio huts (near the river) and it was an amazing experience. The staff in the reception office speak very little English, but are sweet. There is a manager available who speaks English if needed. To get there we arranged a car with them, the best value is to take... More

This is a touristic complex close to the 'cascada de las animas', offering accommodation, hiking, sports and a restaurant. It is an odd mix of backpacker tourism with expensive lodges. We stayed at one of the lodges one night, and although it was nice, we found it quite expensive (around US$ 300 if I remember well). There are hot tubs,... More

We scheduled a day trip with Cascada de las Animas for a wine tour, lunch, zip line, and rafting. They picked us up at our apartment in the morning around 9 in Santiago and dropped us off that evening around 8 pm. Considering all of the activities included, the day trip was of great value! We paid about $130 USD... More

We stayed here for 3 nites at the end of October. So glad we chose the cabins by the river. We had number 1, just past the bridge. It was quite stunning! The balcony door opens up to the beautiful fast flowing river and stunning mountain view, plus , because it was spring we were surrounded by wild flowers. The... More

We hadn't known what to expect but were delighted with the thoughtfulness of the design and execution that made our experience quite memorable, the best we met in over 2 weeks in Chile. Much attention to detail; promoted a sense of pleasure. Unique.

We loved our stay at Cascada de las Animas. This is one of the most scenic places I've ever stayed. My son and I stayed in one of the stand-alone yurts along the river, and our friends camped in the camp ground. Our yurt was cozy, comfortably furnished, and totally cute. Plus, the sound of the river was extremely soothing.... More

This was one of the most unique and beautiful places we stayed on our trip to South America. Unfortunately I can only give it a 3 star rating because the service we received was so disappointing. We encountered several issues in our one night stay: were made to wait for 1+ hours at the riverside restaurant for lunch (when it... More

They don't let you go for a walk by yourself, you have to use a bracelet like a prisoner, the restaurant has a nice view but the food is mediocre, expensive and the service is terrible, not just bad, they treat us badly, we complain and instead of apologise they treat us worst. what a frustrating experience. I'm Chilean I... More

1. Freedom: when you check-in they obligate you to wear a plastic bracelet to indicate that you are staying at the place. You have to wear it day and night, it is very uncomfortable. I have visited many places around the world and this is the first time that a hotel makes me wear a bracelet. It makes me feel... More

If you are looking for some independent camping and hiking (i.e., unguided), do not come here. While the facilities are extensive and quite good, including the camping, the surrounding terrain and trails are privately owned and access is controlled by the management. To access the trail network you must cross a bridge with a locked gate on one end (i.e.,... More
