We met a couple in our local who'd recommended The Star Inn for the food and general ambience. We know the village a little as we live approx. 8 miles away, but had never seen the pub as it's tucked away down a country lane in an edge of village location. This actually adds to its specialness and appealed to... More

I came here for the first time with some friends on a quiet mid-week day and we all had a great lunch. We all agreed that we fancied most of the dishes on the specials board. The chef told us that he takes pride in using only local ingredients and that nothing on anyone's plate comes from further than 24... More

A very nice pub and the food looked good. You will defiantly need to book if you want to eat! I think we must have called in on a rare off night as the staff were quite off with some customers who wanted to eat but hadn't booked.

Staying in the area on holiday, we had 3 great meals (on 3 different days) in this wonderful pub / inn. We started planning our days around getting there for a meal! Other places might have more polished websites, or more Masterchef'ed menus (with descriptions that I can never understand), but the Star Inn concentrates on providing excellent food, clearly... We love this place especially for Sunday lunch.. It's in the middle of nowhere and a very traditional country pub... Staff are extremely personable and attentive and the ales and food are excellent. You must prebook in advance or you will likely be very disappointed as spaces are limited. Another excellent Sunday roast sat by a Large traditional fireplace surrounded... More

Stayed there in October 2014 for one night. Spotless accommodation, room a little small but adequate for a night stay. The 2 rooms at the pub are in an outside building so it is quiet. Breakfast was really great, so is the food at the pub. Will go back.

Just returned from a 3 night stay at the star. Sue and her staff made us really welcome (including our dog Cas ) Lovely room, good food, good beer, everything good. Will be back in the new year for another stay.

After staying 2 nights I can quite honestly say I have never ever been to a more homely, friendly and efficient B&B than this one. From arrival to departure, this quaint little spot is a visit you will never forget. The accommodation is perfect, the breakfast is a tasty daily feast, and even "Shadow" the friendly Labrador knows how to... More

We were due to stay here for three nights but as some of our group couldn't make the trip we ended up staying in the accommodation already booked for the rest of the group. Sue the landlady couldn't have been more helpful and understanding with our very short notice cancellation. We still went for dinner on Saturday night and the... More

We've just got home after a weekend away, and felt compelled to write a review on here, I don't think we've ever been anywhere quite so wonderful as the Star Inn, and that has to be on account of Sue and Mick's warm and welcoming atmosphere, along with all the staff including Gary the chiefs outstanding food (A taste sensation,...
