We were due to stay here for three nights but as some of our group couldn't make the trip we ended up staying in the accommodation already booked for the rest of the group. Sue the landlady couldn't have been more helpful and understanding with our very short notice cancellation. We still went for dinner on Saturday night and the... More

We've just got home after a weekend away, and felt compelled to write a review on here, I don't think we've ever been anywhere quite so wonderful as the Star Inn, and that has to be on account of Sue and Mick's warm and welcoming atmosphere, along with all the staff including Gary the chiefs outstanding food (A taste sensation,... Recently visited Norfolk for a short break with my boyfriend, was recommended to us by our B&B (Dairy Barns at Hickling- LOVELY) and we were definitely not disappointed. Beautiful food, warm welcome and homely feel. Went home absolutely full to the brim, even my boyfriend did which isn't often heard of! I promise you wont be disappointed with this honest... More

Sue, Mick and Matthew couldnt be more welcoming. The B&B rooms are very comfortable, beautifully furnished, well presented and excellent value for money. Gary, the chef does an amazing breakfast, you wont leave his table hungry.

Long time customer with my father. We are both in agreement that it's easily the greatest all round pub a Norfolk. The food is scrummy. The alcohol selection is great. The staff are delightful. Great outdoor seating, with beautiful views. It's an absolute must you visit, remember to book though!

We have been here several times over the last few years and the key word is consistent. The food is consistent in its quality and price (the Chef is consistent), the beer is consistent in its quality and variety and the welcome and care from all the staff, but particularly Sue and Mick, is consistent in its friendliness and genuine... Visited on two separate occasions, amazing service. On the second night the chef was swamped with a Christmas party for 21 people and we still managed to get our dinner served quickly and efficiently!!! Fantastic pub with a great atmosphere, pub landlord and landlady very friendly. Can't wait to go back! Proper pub with proper beer and grub. Jan and... More

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here. Excellent friendly and relaxed service. Good menu and wine served in nice generous glasses. Great value for money, but do book - this place is very popular. Dogs are welcome & children too

Found this gem in the summer whilst on holiday with family. The food was excellent and the staff worked tirelessly to provide a first class experience. Visited again recently and we were not disappointed! Sue and her team deserve all the praise we can heap on them! OK so you may have to wait, but all good things are worth... More

Having read the last review here I felt moved to comment. I have not before on the grounds sometimes people reading these reviews think local opinion can be biased.... NOT SO on this occasion. I am renowned as the landlords scurge locally over the quality of beer on the grounds its getting to expensive to pay good money for rubbish,... More
