Big Blue Backyard is one of the most pristine, stylish, romantic, boutique getaways in Victoria. Having searched for weeks for a 5 star hotel, all I could find were out-dated accommodation and big brand hotels. I was truly impressed when I came across BBB. From the minute I had booked with BBB I received correspondence from our hosts, asking whether... More

We came to the big blue backyard for a getaway for my 30th birthday. It was perfect! Lisa was there to greet us when we arrived and it felt like we were staying with friends. Lisa was very warm and welcoming - I'd never experienced this when coming to a B&B before. There was a bottle of bubbles in the... More

Wow.. Upon booking our room - I had a feeling it was going to special. And was definitely not diss appointed. We where pampered and well looked after from the minute we arrived. Not to mention - small little things, like a personal message left on the back of the Bathroom door welcoming us. And special vegan biscuits left in... More

Lisa and Paul are talented and creative people who have carved a beautiful and romantic hideaway out of the tea tree scrub, just back from the ocean. Their attention to detail and their commitment to quality, combined with their own very special sauce means that the Big Blue Backyard is a truly wonderful place. Combine it with a trip to... More

Lisa & Paul have a wonderful recipe here. Perfect destination for our honeymoon. Food was amazing; location secluded and perfect; service outstanding - Lisa is wonderful. A memorable experience!!! We spent a relaxing and romantic 6-days and didn't want to leave.

My wife and i stayed here for our wedding night and the night after that. I cannot rate this place highly enough. We stayed in the beach room and the decoration of the room was fantastic. The bed was super comfy and the breakfast each day was just to die for. Next time we come back we'll definitely be having... More

Our 2013 visit stay in the 'Bush Hideaway' just wasn't enough, so we returned in March 2014 to experience the unique peace, beauty & serenity of the Big Blue Backyard, this time staying in the 'Beach Hideaway'. All 3 huts are thoughtful & uniquely designed with exquisite attention to quality, detail & comfort. Hosts Lisa & Paul offer warm, attentive... More

We arrived to perfect weather across the weekend and this was complimented by a wonderful welcome and gorgeous meal brought to our balcony. Closely followed by a bottle of champagne then a sunset walk along the private beach. That evening the outdoor spa was totally relaxing and the next day complimented with a massage. The hosts Lisa and Paul are... More

We stayed Saturday and Sunday night. Had a dinner booked for us at Montalto Vineyard on Saturday night, and a special dinner in our hideaway ( African) on Sunday night. Went for lots of walks down to the beach thru the scrub and explored in both directions, arriving back weary but with our lungs full of clean sea air. Room... More

I took my husband there for his birthday back in December last year. We stayed for one night in the African Hideaway. When we arrived Lisa welcomed us in the driveway. She showed us around the place and took us to our cottage. The hole property was beautifully maintained. Our African themed cottage was just stunning and you could tell... More
