Located a short drive from Southampton this country house has been converted into a very comfortable hotel. The staff are welcoming and the rooms are tastefully appointed to a high standard. What sets this hotel apart from others is the restaurant and wine cellar. A hidden gem in the south of England! The food is some of the best I... More

We stayed on a very reasonable mid week deal. The food, both dinner and breakfast, was of the highest quality with lovely, locally sourced, imaginative dishes. The only issue was choosing what to have! The rooms had lovely finishing touches, ours had a bath in the middle of the bedroom complete with little rubber duck. The staff were friendly and... More

What a cracking hotel & restaurant this is; we had the most fabulous lunch from the very competitively priced Lunch Menu. Great choice, great food, well prepared, well presented and it tasted as good as it looked. The staff are excellent too and the wine was first class and not the "usual formula" predictable choices either - how refreshing! Loved... More

I have been looking at Terravina for a while (it's only an hour and a bit away from where I live). Me and my husband stayed on 29 December - I am not disappointed, it lived up to and exceeded my expectations. With a warm and courteous welcome when we arrived, we were promptly shown to our beautiful room (Vin... More

I have been here a number of times for lunch but this was my first visit for dinner and we stayed over. The rooms are lovely, nice and clean and very nice decor with comfortable beds and I would recommend relaxing in the bath. Dinner was lovely, as you would expect, my only negative feedback is in the evening the... More

There's several good hotels in the area-Lime Wood, Pig at Brockenhurst etc but this is our favourite. Set up by two experienced hoteliers (co founders of Hotel du Vin) in a converted Victorian House, and it shows-lots of thoughtful touches in the bathrooms and bedrooms. Open plan restaurant serving local produce, beautifully presented and cooked, and very interesting wine list.... More

We decided to stay here for our first anniversary and opted for the midweek Food Lovers Break, this included a 6 course taster menu, room and breakfast. The hotel is well maintained has a rustic yet contemporary feel to it and is cosy and comfortable at the same time. We stayed in the Vin Doux Naturel room which was spacious,... More

A warm honest professional welcome awaits when you enter! The food is second to none, the service extremely friendly. It is as well very nice that the owners have still got a "hands-on" approach, so rare these days. It was not the first visit and for sure is far from being the last one.

We stayed here for two nights with friends and booked the tasting menu for one night and it was superb. We also enjoyed the a la carte menu the following night. The restaurant could be a little more comfortable as there is quite a long bench layout on one side facing the open pass kitchen which may not be to... More

Had lunched there before but this was first overnight stay. Very pleasant accommodation, excellent service and the usual fine food with matching wines. Can now recommend them both for eating and staying! We shall most definitely return.
