There's several good hotels in the area-Lime Wood, Pig at Brockenhurst etc but this is our favourite. Set up by two experienced hoteliers (co founders of Hotel du Vin) in a converted Victorian House, and it shows-lots of thoughtful touches in the bathrooms and bedrooms. Open plan restaurant serving local produce, beautifully presented and cooked, and very interesting wine list.... More

We decided to stay here for our first anniversary and opted for the midweek Food Lovers Break, this included a 6 course taster menu, room and breakfast. The hotel is well maintained has a rustic yet contemporary feel to it and is cosy and comfortable at the same time. We stayed in the Vin Doux Naturel room which was spacious,... More

A warm honest professional welcome awaits when you enter! The food is second to none, the service extremely friendly. It is as well very nice that the owners have still got a "hands-on" approach, so rare these days. It was not the first visit and for sure is far from being the last one.

We stayed here for two nights with friends and booked the tasting menu for one night and it was superb. We also enjoyed the a la carte menu the following night. The restaurant could be a little more comfortable as there is quite a long bench layout on one side facing the open pass kitchen which may not be to... More

Had lunched there before but this was first overnight stay. Very pleasant accommodation, excellent service and the usual fine food with matching wines. Can now recommend them both for eating and staying! We shall most definitely return.

I took my husband for his birthday and had three nights at this fantastic gem. It offers amazing value for money compared to other more flashy New Forest destinations. Our room was incredibly comfortable with all the amenities one could ask for, but without those you pay for but don't need. Fresh milk in the fridge for morning tea, a... More

Eaten here several times and as one of our party is a vegan they always provide a separate vegan menu, which is going the extra mile in my book. Service, presentation and quality of the food is always superb. The starter tonight was a homemade falafel, which was slightly spicy but very tasty. Main course was a haricot beans in... More

This hotel is just beyond words. You feel welcome from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave. The setting is so-so, nice and quiet in the woods, but not truly alone in the woods, but that is the only slightly negative thing I can say. The rooms are of a nice size, spotless and well equipped. We stayed... More

We have stayed at this hotel twice now and feel like we have found the perfect gem. If you love wine, good food and luxury then there really is nowhere else to look in the New Forest. They made us welcome and we were fortunate enough to meet Gerrard and Nina (owners) on our stay. In the afternoon we played... More

This is the smallest hotel we’ve ever stayed in, but probably one of the most delightful. We found the staff throughout the hotel, without exception, to be friendly and professional. Booked for a special occasion, we were welcomed by the friendly receptionist and shown to our room ‘Jerepigo’ on the first floor. The room contained everything you could need for... More
