Group of 13 for mothers day, fantastic staff, amazingly good food with huge portions, good value and lovely warm wood burning fire. Busy day and all meals delivered at the same time and still perfectly hot. Excellent all round . Will definitely return. Thank you to all the staff.

Very generous portions - 2 adult and one kids meal for a 2 year old - could have skipped the kids meal. Very nice duck hash, fish and chips too. Friendly staff and attentive service. Picked it since it was close to Longdown farm and glad we did. Not quite as good as The Oak but a lovely change

Food is excellent, with big portions. Service is excellent. Cosy pub in the forest with nice log fire. We have also stayed here which we enjoyed. Dog friendly and not to noisy. Think we need to book another visit

Really enjoyed our Sunday lunch here. It was my birthday so met up with family here. Perfect location as not far from main A31. Food excellent. Staff polite and chatty and atmosphere lovely. Really recommend it.

A large group of friends and I went here for lunch last Friday. There was a welcoming smell of a log fire and they seated all of us very quickly even though we were quite a large group. The service throughout was really good actually. However, the food was shocking. Having been told that everything was being made from scratch... More

Popped in to book a table and to make sure our dog would be welcome. Lady behind bar was lovely. Welcoming, friendly and happy to take reservation and even asked which table we wanted. Met with friends later that evening. Roaring fire, all ages enjoying a great pub on a cold January Weds night. Food was basic but well cooked.... More

It's 16.00 on a Friday afternoon. Its freezing outside. Delicious locally sourced sausage and mash, perfectly cooked vegetables, a pint of Ringwood Brewery's Flacks Double Drop beer, roaring fire, free wi-if that works (hence post) and friendly bar staff conspired to restore my well-being. Ready now for a walk at dusk. Love England.

Arrived about 4pm Monday 29 Dec after a good walk around the forest. Took table for 4 near window and in close proximity of a lovely log fire. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Ordered starters and mains and quality of food was excellent value. Atmosphere was wonderful, as was the local ale. Even late afternoon, trade was good - sign... More

We had Sunday lunch here and it was very pleasant. A pub, with good pub food. Dogs and children are catered for. Its a very old building that is what it is, the staff were very good - 10/10. The food was as you would expect in a pub and very tasty. Very much worth a visit, we will return.

After a long and muddy dog walk we were made very welcome at this traditional New Forest Inn The service was attentive and personal. We had tasty warming curries and there was water and dog biscuits for the dogs.A very warming haven on a wet day.
