We spent two nights at Wayside Cottage in August 2014 and had a lovely stay. We were welcomed by Janet and John with a pot of tea and home-made cake and shown to our comfortable room. Breakfast was of a very high standard with local produce and home-made bread and jam. The cottage is ideally situated for walks and activities... More

There are some rather gushing reviews elsewhere in Trip Advisor but our experience was a bit average for £90 a night. We liked the location and the separate lounge was very useful travelling with a little one with an early bedtime. The room and bathroom were very tired - the bathroom in particular would benefit from redecoration. Breakfast was tasty... More

We spent four days in July and from the moment we walked in we were made most welcome. We loved the two dogs of the house. We were welcomed with tea and cake in the garden . Our room was very large and spotlessly clean, The breakfasts were lovely with a wide choice every day . Burley is a lovely... More

We stayed at Wayside Cottage with friends for the first time in July. We were welcomed by Janet and John and shown to our rooms. We had the room with the Four Poster Bed which was clean and comfortable with en-suite bath. On arrival Janet provided us with tea and delicious home made Victoria sponge cake. Breakfast was excellent with... More

Back in February we booked a weekend away in July at Wayside Cottage for our wedding anniversary through Agoda. We opted for a slightly more expensive room with a four-poster bed due to it being a special occasion. The owner, Janet, phoned me up at the time and said that they don’t take American Express so would I be able... More

We had a lovely two night stay in a wonderful setting. The room, with its four post bed, was very comfortable and clean with en suite and a gorgeous view of the garden. Breakfast was delicious with local produce and home made bread. We will return again soon

We first came upon Wayside cottage and Janet and John 11years ago. We have been coming every year since then! We have stayed in all the rooms although we have our favourite they are all of an excellent standard. There is a good choice for breakfast and plenty of it. In the summer weather permitting breakfast is served on the... More

We enjoyed two nights at this lovely B & B. down a lane where ponies roam. Lovely breakfasts. Friendly dogs and owners. Peaceful location. Plenty of seating in patio garden and a lovely front garden. Sufficient parking.

We were staying at Wayside Cottage with a few of our walking group. On first impressions it is very good. On arrival we were offered tea and homemade fruit bread which was very good! The room was very clean but I think the four poster bed is a little unnecessary and it made the room feel smaller than it is... More
