I generally do not like staying in B&Bs, but this place was a standout exception. The food was incredible, the bed (in the 4-poster room, upstairs) was divine, the hosts gracious, and the resident dogs were the cherry on top! I really felt like this was my house; no pressure to clear out by 10AM or whenever; in fact, one... More

So glad I booked the twin room at this B&B. We checked in and were shown our beautiful, well equipped room and offered tea and cakes in the lounge by the owner John. There was also a beautiful garden we could use too. The beds were most comfortable and the room accessorised beautifully with tea/coffee facilities, bathroom smellies and a... More

This was the first time myself and partner had visited the New Forest and chose the B&B mainly due to the good tripadvisor reviews. What a great decision. John and Janet were great hosts and recommended things to do in the area and good places to eat. The cottage is in an excellent location and is picture postcard. Best of... More

We spent 2 nights at this very pleasant cottage located very close to the centre of Burley. The cottage is set in a quiet location and has nice gardens and ample parking for guests. We were greeted by the owners, John & Janet and within minutes were sitting in the garden enjoying tea and cakes. We stayed in room 1... More

We spent a 3 night stay at Wayside Cottage over the August bank holiday weekend (we had intended only staying 2 nights but there was a minimum 3 night stay that weekend). Having read the other reviews, we were expecting great things, however were disappointed for a number of reasons: 1) Despite having booked a family room for ourselves and... More

We spent 3 nights at Wayside Cottage and had a lovely time. We were warmly greeted by Janet & John with tea and delicious homemade cake. We booked the Tosca twin room which was spacious and well equipped. lovely view of the gardens and bee hives. The beds were heavenly, made getting up in the morning very difficult. I stayed... More

Turned up early evening but Janet and John were out for the evening so had left the keys out for us. Room was comfortable and clean with a bed that was difficult to get out of in the morning, which would have been a terrible mistake as we would have missed breakfast which was quite superb !! As mentioned in... More

We spent two nights at Wayside Cottage in August 2014 and had a lovely stay. We were welcomed by Janet and John with a pot of tea and home-made cake and shown to our comfortable room. Breakfast was of a very high standard with local produce and home-made bread and jam. The cottage is ideally situated for walks and activities... More

There are some rather gushing reviews elsewhere in Trip Advisor but our experience was a bit average for £90 a night. We liked the location and the separate lounge was very useful travelling with a little one with an early bedtime. The room and bathroom were very tired - the bathroom in particular would benefit from redecoration. Breakfast was tasty... More

We spent four days in July and from the moment we walked in we were made most welcome. We loved the two dogs of the house. We were welcomed with tea and cake in the garden . Our room was very large and spotlessly clean, The breakfasts were lovely with a wide choice every day . Burley is a lovely... More
