Good and handy to shops, friendly helpful staff and we found the food delightful. Hotel is clean and the rooms are a good size. As we had travelled from New Zealand it was important that we had a room not facing the Main Road as we live in the country and are unused to night traffic our room was ideal.

I am reviewing the pub not the hotel. My husband and I went into the Red Lion last night for dinner. As it was so hot we decided to have the Ploughman's Platter for two - priced £20 we assumed that there would be plenty to feed us both - how wrong we were! The platter consisted of 2 mini... More

Five stars for the food reduced to three stars due to a really poor example of the service ethos. The senior waitress (possibly restaurant supervisor/manager) throwing the wine we had ordered into the glasses without allowing us to look at the bottle or taste it, very sloppy pouring too! We were never asked if everything was ok with the meal... More

Coach parking: Easy to find but street view or hotel website does not give you a good idea of where to park a coach. Duty manager and receptionist went out of their way to help us out (Cathy and Esther) coming out when we arrived. Turn first left before red Lion Hotel and reverse in lay by to unload passengers.... We stayed just one night at this lovely, rather old world hotel. We arrived quite late after visiting Hampton Court Flower Show and rushed to the dining room. We were immediately shown to a table and the lady who served us our drinks and food was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The bedroom was a good size... More

The pub is charming. We had already had dinner before we arrived, which was a shame as the food looked delicious. We did, however, enjoy a few pints in the very friendly bar. All of the staff were welcoming and efficient. Our room was small – as was the bed – but was very comfortable and well-designed. Breakfast was unspectacular,... More

We booked a family trip away and after some looking we decided on the Red Lion. We checked in on Saturday 28th June and arrived at the hotel at 9.30am, thankfully our rooms were ready so we could check in and drop our stuff off before we headed into London. The room was lovely and modern, my brother in law... More

Hotel info guide in room consisted of nothing more than blank writing paper - helpful! Took numerous phone calls over 15 min period for reception to answer phone. Frosty reception from waitress at breakfast - felt like interrogated over our ability to pay for meal before taking our order. Felt like we were an inconvenience to staff when asking for... More

My partner and I stayed here last minute. The following morning we called three times to reception before they answered, to find out what time checkout was as there is zero useful information in the rooms. When we arrived for breakfast we were greeted my the most miserable waitress who made us feel like anything we asked was a huge... More

Stay here when on business in UK sometimes. Nice hotel and good restaurant for dinner or breakfast. However be careful as to the room you stay in... this time I was in 103 which is right by the junction of corridors between reception and route to the bar/restaurant - i.e. very noisy when people in the corridor. Its and old... More

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on tripadvisor, I am delighted you enjoyed your stay with us, and note your comments about corridor noise outside room 103. I do apologise for the fact there was no cafetiere in your room for you to make fresh coffee wtih. My housekeeping team are normally very good at replacing... More
