My friends mother in law and I have eaten here twice in the last three weeks. We didn't book and took a chance, there was no problem a table was found immediately. The staff were friendly and mindful of having an older person, time was taken to settle us both in. The food was very, very good and the chips,... More

We booked this accommodation a few weeks ago as a base. We travelled from outside Manchester for our sons 21st present of a driving experience near Loughborough. We arrived at the pub early afternoon. We had been told we could check in between 2.30 and 3.15 or after 6.00pm so as we were a little early we enjoyed a drink... More

We where staying in the accommodation attached to the Wheatsheaf. As we where visiting sick and elderly relatives we called to pick up the keys on the way as we did not know what time we would be back. A very pleasant lady who gave us the keys showed us around the accommodation it was perfect for us (myself, husband... More

We stayed here recently to break up a long trip from the south. It is around 20 minutes off the motorway and is well worth the effort. The accommodation is clean and very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant and enjoyed a good Prawn Cocktail and Leek and Potato Soup to start. For main we had a very good Steak... More

Have been recently for dinner with friends and lunch with family. I love the pub and friendly atmosphere. The food was fantastic and the service really good. The bonus is that dogs are allowed in the back room so it's perfect for a post walk lunch. * checkout the cupcake shop next door too

We visited the Wheatsheaf Inn earlier today for Sunday lunch. The staff were great, very welcoming and attentive. The food was delicious, good sized portions but not over the top. The orange and ginger bread and butter pudding was lovely, highly recommended. If you are looking for good food, decent service and a nice atmosphere the Wheatsheaf is well worth... More

Our room was in a cottage attached to the pub which had its own kitchen and sitting room. The room was large as was the bathroom.....a very comfortable night's sleep. A proper pub atmosphere with excellent beer and friendly locals. The staff were attentive from start to finish. We were entertaining our daughter and friends, so ate in the bar.... More

I've visited here before and really enjoyed myself but this time it was a big disappointment. The service was unbelievably slow and I wasn't blown away by the food. I had the fish and chips which did not come with tartare sauce and the fish was full of bones. The mushy peas were cold and I had to ask the... More
