We heard of other people in Guamote that the hotel/guesthouse they staid in had no heating or fireplace. In Inti SIsa there are fireplaces all over at the groundfloor, making the perfect diners they serve even a better experience. Eva and Tom are doing a graet job and they speak many languages. They also have great day trips to the... More

To visit Guamote is definitely worth it, even though you are not here for the great market on Thursdays. The whole team of Inti Sisa around Eva and Tom will love to help you by organizing a visit to their community based projects, a mountainbiketour or for example a visit to the volcano Chimborazo. During our stay we visited next... More

We happened upon this place while searching for stops between Cuenca and Baños and we are very glad we did! It's the perfect stop over between the two places. It's a bit on the more expensive side of you consider $29 pp expensive but it's worth it as the money goes towards a great cause. The meal we had there... More

We've stayed in the Inti Sisa guesthouse for two nights and absolutely loved it. The town of Guamote is a unique place, where 95% of the local people are indigenous and still dress in a traditional way. The Inti Sisa community guesthouse is run by Eva and Tom, two Belgians who have been living in Guamote for some years. They... More

I've been around the block in the world of traveling, and this ranks as one of the most pleasant surprises in the past couple of decades. I was looking for a place with cultural components. It far exceeded my expectations in every respect. Thoughtful decor and design, warm reception, comfortable room, great meals. Spotless, yet inviting. Lovely experience all around--thank... More

Very Nice place yo stay, great home made food, welcoming service, very nice accommodations. The only issue is the lack of parking, you will have to park on the street if you come with a vehicle. Very good complementary WIFI. If you stay here you can enjoy cultural activities organized by the people of Guamote. You can also visit the... More

The hostel is just wonderful, excellent home made dinners if you wish and the best breakfast with home made bread. The rooms are clean with good wifi and also with pleasant hosts. Apart from the hostel they are really making a difference to the local community by educational services and also other methods. You see this first hand when you... More

We truly enjoyed our stay here, if only it could have been longer. Our hosts and guides were knowledgeable, friendly and took great care of us. The food was excellent. The rooms were lovely. We traveled with young children (ages 6-15) and everyone loved their time here. We took the tour to Chimborazo which was fantastic-- a great hike (altitude... More

A gem of a place. A warm welcome. Tasty food. Clean and comfortable room with excellent bathroom and really hot water. A duvet on the bed was the icing on the cake for us. It has a lovely atmosphere. There is a cosy sitting room with log burner and the guests all eat together -great for stimulating conversation. Don't miss... More

The lovely village of Guamote is certainly a place where you can witness the "real" Ecuador. We were lucky to arrive on a Thursday and experience their market day, which was unlike other markets we had seen. Eva, Hannah and Tom at the Inti Sisa made sure our stay was comfortable. The room was bright and spacious, with new bathrooms... More
