Well you cant go wrong with the Eagles Plains Hotel, mostly because its really the only place to stay for many many miles! The rooms are ok. Reasonably comfortable and neat if not a little dated. The restaurant is pretty standard but offers the weary driver of the Dempster all they need.

Sure it's the only place around but don't let that foll you. Very friendly staff, great food, and a nice place to sleep. We chose not to drive the Demspter in one day and was very glad this establishment was available to us. It truly is an oasis in a beautiful wilderness.

It's not the most fancy place, and the campground is essentially the northern end of the truck parking lot, but it has what you need in an area where services are few and far between. The staff is knowledgeable about conditions on the Dempster highway, and provided current reports that took into account information gathered not only from official government... More

We stayed here for one night on our drive up the Dempster Highway. We booked ahead but upon check-in, the woman at the front desk told us only 6 rooms of roughly 30 were taken, and this was in the third week of July. It was quite difficult too - I probably called 5 times before I was finally able... More

Just have to express our pleasure of stopping long enough at Eagle Plains or fuel.... for both our vehicle and our hunger. With the hotel/restaurant being, needless to say, way out in the middle of nowhere, we were delighted with the wonderful lunch meals we had both going up the Dempster and back down again. They were DELICIOUS, WONDERFULLY PRESENTED... More

Awful hotel, room smelled like urine. Lady at the front desk was rude. It is the only hotel within 400kms either way, so you have no choice but to stay there if you are travelling the Dempster highway. But if you can sleep in a tent it might be a better option! We were in a pet room, so I... More

Definitely adequate. Staff friendly enough and helpful, room old but clean, including linens and bathroom (needs new shower curtain). Plenty of hot water. View: road and parked cars. Restaurant adequate, nothing special - a "2" - but overall, if you've driven 250 miles on gravel in rain, mud and fog it's pretty welcoming. It's also the only gas for 250... More

...you have already heard it is the only show in town. The room was dark and caked in dust. The bathtub and surround had so much scum on it I could carve my initials in it. I went to their storage/laundry room in the night, brought back my own magic fix and cleaned it myself. Before leaving I called in... More

Meets basic needs. It is approx 15km before the arctic circle, and is the only place to stay on the Dempster after leaving Dawson city. The room was clean, however, upon pulling back the covers a HUGE giant insect lay dead between the sheets. Be sure to arrive before 9pm, the kitchen closes and there is nowhere else to eat.... More

We had just finished traveling by motorcycle from Dawson City most of the trip in snow and rain very cold so by the time we reached the motel it was a god send , we got our rooms which were very clean and surprisingly large then headed down to dinning area for super the food was very good and the...
