...you have already heard it is the only show in town. The room was dark and caked in dust. The bathtub and surround had so much scum on it I could carve my initials in it. I went to their storage/laundry room in the night, brought back my own magic fix and cleaned it myself. Before leaving I called in... More

Meets basic needs. It is approx 15km before the arctic circle, and is the only place to stay on the Dempster after leaving Dawson city. The room was clean, however, upon pulling back the covers a HUGE giant insect lay dead between the sheets. Be sure to arrive before 9pm, the kitchen closes and there is nowhere else to eat.... More

We had just finished traveling by motorcycle from Dawson City most of the trip in snow and rain very cold so by the time we reached the motel it was a god send , we got our rooms which were very clean and surprisingly large then headed down to dinning area for super the food was very good and the... Despite reading some mixed reviews, we enjoyed our stay and meals while we spent a couple of nights at their location. The service station assisted with some minor repairs and didn't kill me with a crazy fee!!

We stayed here after not being able to drive back to our tent site at Tombstone due to rain and mud. luckily the Eagle Plains Hotel had a room so we stayed there while the road dried out a bit. It is the only hotel on the dempster in the yukon. The room was clean and decent size, Bed was... More

its been a few years[eight] since I hitchiked up the Dempster to Inuvik but apart from the blackflies, [only to be expected!] I have mainly good memories of my trip! One gripe I had/have is that there were hardly ANY places selling souvenirs. There were a few Narwhal things on sale in Inuvik but at very high prices!BUT I found a... More

had to spend 3 days there waiting for the Dempster to be cleared. Rooms were OK. A lot of money but to be expected. The cook was absolutely super. A great example of how someone in the hospitality industry should be. There were a few women there (running the place) who did nothing positive to help the forced stay. No... More

We were thrilled that they had a room avaiable! After packing up our Tombstone camp site in the cold, rain and mud - then driving 200+ miles over mud slick roads in the rain and wind, the Eagle Plains Hotel is a welcome oasis in the middle of nowhere. We stayed here twice on our trip to Inuvik - the... More

Eagle Plains maybe the only game in town, but considering its remoteness, this is a good property. Stayed here going to/coming back from Inuvik. Rooms were clean albeit dated for some tastes. Staff were helpful; food plentiful and well prepared. This is the place to meet locals and experience the true north. Be sure to checkout the lounge.

There is not much choice when travelling between Dawson City and Inuvik unless you drive straight through. we did not have that will power or energy to do that. The rooms were average and other than having to bang on the door to the room next to us at 1:00 in the morning to tell the people to shut up it...
