Since the fire to the hotel wing Mount Murray is surviving on the restaurant and spa. They offer a lunch menu for £10, three course with coffee and for what you pay the value is unbeatable, The menu of course is limited but it is very good value and the quality is good.

Second time here, been several years apart. Last time I landed here I was checked out by special branch, now I'm a resident is not so intrusive at Ronaldsway. Moving on, I don't play golf ( not old enough yet). Still possibly the best hotel on the isle, but missing a trick or three. Had dinner with new friends and... More

I was in the Isle of Man for a family funeral and was planning to stay 2 nights but ended up staying a 3rd night due to a storm cancelled flight. Having just read of the fire a couple of weeks after may visit, I would like to extend my condolences to those employed there. The staff, especially in the... More

On the 7th November 2013 the Mount Murray Hotel suffered from a catastrophic fire that has destroyed the accommodation block. The separate, second building which houses the bar, gym & function room was saved from damage and the owner said that they hope to have the function area, gym etc open for business again within days. However the accommodation block... More

After reading some of the reviews on Tripadvisor my expectations were low. Having stayed for a long weekend we found the hotel to be great (yes a little dated in parts) but overall a clean, adequate and with very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel has good facilities - gym, squash courts, swimining pool (which I didn't use) and a... More

I am local, also gym member, decided to meet my son and grandchildren for lunch in bar area, which has a child menu, ordered our food, waited well over half an hour for food, kids very well behaved but hungry, had to get serving staff to chase up food, eventually served, food good, then ordered ice cream for children, 25... After reading some disparaging reviews on tripadvisor I was concerned about my decision to book a colleague and I into this hotel. I was unable to get into the usual hotel they used, which was the Sefton. The hotel and country club is set in nice grounds with a lake. The first impressions upon entering reception was that it was... More

To me it looks as if the initial "Dream" of Mount Murry Hotel & Country Club is starting to fade and is becoming a bit jaded. The rooms are clean, tidy and functional but the general ambience is getting a bit tired. This said the staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. A good base for touring... More

Needs completely re doing, gym awful. Badly planned and laid out. Pool cold, hydro therapy pool appalling , sauna and steam room not working, when complained, told by owner a Mr Goobay to go and have a hot bath, truly a very bad experience

I took an opportunity to see the Isle of Man for the first time in my life. I booked 3 nights at what claims to be the IoM's best hotel, taking a morning plane out from Manchester and an evening plane back, giving me 4 usable days. The Mount Murray doesn't do checkins until 2pm, which gave me no opportunity... More
