We have just returned from a holiday at Nettlecombe Farm. We took our three year old twin daughters and they absolutely loved it as did we. This place is perfect for families. The accommodation is spacious, clean and welcoming and the outdoor space is amazing for kids. There's two play areas and areas where the kids can view the animals.... More

Grandparents, parent, dog and two pre-schoolers all had a wonderful time at Nettlecombe Farm. It was a brilliant location with loads to do for everyone. Children adored the feeding time with Farmer John; he was excellent at managing the animals and them at the same time! Fishing lakes were great for Grandad. Dog loved garden and loads of beautiful walks.... More

We returned for our 3rd visit to Nettlecombe Farm, despite not visiting since 2006 everything was still immaculate in April this year and outside facilities continue to improve! Absolutely love this place and would recommend it to anyone that will listen to me!!

Our second visit to Robin in Nettlecombe. We had a lovely time last visit 3 years ago, this time with a 6 year old, 3 year old and a baby. The cottage is well equipped and the strange corridor between the 2 bedrooms was really enjoyed by the older children. The animals were fed daily by John who was a... More

We have just returned from a wonderful week at Nettlecombe farm. A truly beautiful location where the only sounds are the sheep. Our daughter loved going on feeding rounds with Farmer Jon and overcame a fear of cows with Penny popping her head over our wall every day. A perfect family holiday and we hope to return. Thank you so... More

I am writing this review after staying in Wheat cottage at nettlecombe farm in the last week of April. The booking was easy to make using the website and upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Josie. Our party consisted of five adults and two children (2 and 4 years old). The cottage had plenty of space and all the... More

Booked and paid for a stay at this Farm online. Yet despite receiving a booking confirmation and them taking money was then informed they'd made a double booking! If you're booking online beware! And definitely don't book your ferry like we did until you know you're definitely booked in!

Dear Georgina, As per our emails we have unfortunately had a rare system error to contend with this week and very sadly we were unable to accommodate you and your family this weekend. As you know we have made an immediate refund, and offered you assistance to find alternative accommodation as well as offering to refund your ferry payment if... More

Spent last week of march in the largest swallow cottage, two families, 3 toddlers and 2 babies. Very pleasant. Cottage had everything we needed. Comfortable, warm, and in sunnier weather excellent patio area overlooking kids play areas and animals. Location was good for good beaches at shanklin. I would have given 4.5 stars if i could. Thank you so much for your review, we are delighted that you had a great time in Corner Cottage. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nettlecombe Farm has been in the Morris family for over a century, and you'll still meet us around the farm today. In the heart of the rolling Isle of Wight countryside, our farm is at the top of a quiet lane half a mile from the sleepy village of Whitwell. Surrounded by green fields and lakes, our luxurious self-catering holiday accommodation is not only safe and comfortable for visitors of all ages and abilities, it's also the perfect base to explore the farm with its friendly animals - or the Islands wider countryside and scenic coastline. Visitors are welcome to explore the farm and meet the animals, and there's plenty of fun to be had at any time of the year. In the Rickyard there is a wide variety of livestock to make friends with - usually chickens, geese, turkeys, pigs, goats, rabbits and even our reindeer ‘Comet & Dancer’. In springtime orphan lambs sometimes need feeding with milk, which can be messy but is always popular! When the kids need to let off steam there is a range of grassed play areas, toddlers play equipment, a big Wendy house, our fabulous wooden tractor and a rustic climbing play facility. For the older children there is a sports area ideal for all sorts of games and football. Our three fully-stocked fishing lakes and of course the farm and nearby countryside is full of places to explore, walk and cycle, and Nettlecombe is a dog-friendly farm too. You might be tempted to enjoy some relaxing yoga at one of our sessions in the modern function barn. Our beautiful rural setting is quiet and secluded, but it's easy to use the farm as a base to explore the beautiful island that is our home. Explore Queen Victoria's country retreat at Osborne House, see where King Charles I was imprisoned at Carisbrooke Castle, or just marvel at the spectacular Needles. Beaches are especially easy to reach from Nettlecombe Farm, from the dramatic shoreline at Compton to the miles of golden sands and seaside amusements at Sandown and Shanklin. We think you will love this part of the Isle of Wight as much as we do. The passing of the seasons and the changing landscape make Nettlecombe Farm worth visiting at any time of year and we are happy to offer short breaks for out of season guests visiting between October & May. We look forward to welcoming you to Nettlecombe Farm... ... more   less
