What a beautiful lodge. The location is amazing. You are surrounded by wildlife which the owners helpfully point out to you. We saw a toucan, a chameleon, a monkey, a mouse deer. It was incredible. While the road is close, there is so little traffic this wasn't an issue. And then there is that incredible ten-minute walk through jungle to... More

We spent 5 days of our honeymoon here and loved it. Luis and Sophie were very helpful and helped us spot animals which there were plenty to see. Luis brings you your breakfast on the balcony every morning while you sit and soak up the rainforest and you can watch hummingbirds and butterflies all around you. It was a short... More

We spent 6 nights here and loved the atmosphere of the cottage nestled in the jungle garden. Luis and Sophy were extremely helpful and friendly and Luis kept an eye out for any creatures which would be of interest to his guests. We saw sloths, monkeys, lizards, butterflies and countless birds, all within easy walking distance of the lodge. We had... More

We spent a week at Colibri and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is in the jungle reserve in between Manzanillo and Punta Uva. The gardens and wildlife right outside the door are beautiful. the one room is spacious and bathroom is very adequate and clean. a small deck with hammock has enough room for breakfast and relaxing. the lodge... El Colibri Lodge is a special and quiet place to stay about thirty minutes from Manzanillo. As other reviewers noted, the rooms are clean and well-maintained. The lodge looks even better in person than in the photos. The breakfast is nice and consists of toast, fruit, and coffee. Be aware that Luis is not an early riser so any request... More

great place to be just 1.5km from Manzanillo. The owners are very nice, always ready to show you any wildlife passing by the garden (sloths, monkeys, frogs etc.). The rooms are very clean and well maintained, have a private patio with a hammock-chair and a little table to consume your breakfast, included in the price. There is a lot of... More

we really loved this place. it was absolutely clean and stylish and located in a wonderfully lush garden. everything necessary there: mosquito net, fan, balcony, great view, great bathroom... the whole area is well-looked after by a french couple. actually the owner's swift service made us laugh and reminded us of the quickly moving colibri. he is very helpful and... This is the perfect place for those looking to avoid the development of Puerto Viejo and to partake of the open beaches and wildlife of the Manzanillo refuge. The owners were very friendly and showed us more wildlife just on the hotel grounds than we'd seen up until that point--sloths, howlers, poison dart frogs, a pitviper. The hotel consists of... More
