Lovely country house hotel. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed by friendly staff. Our room, although at the rear of the house was big with high ceiling and with a good bathroom a large double bed and a cosy working gas fire. The lounge although small was well furnished with comfortable chairs. The bar was a similar size to... More

Visited Ardtara in October 2014 midweek. Got a great rate for 2 nights B&B with 1 evening meal. We were the only guests there and it was great! VIP treatment from Scott who was on duty throughout our stay. Arrived late and had drinks in the bar by the fire and as we had missed dinner we had bought some... More

I've been to ardtara several times and always have been impressed with the standard of service and quality of food. Wine choice is second to none and all rooms have cosy working gas fires. The Chablis is best I've tasted and house Merlot is smooth and great pairing with their steak dishes. Not many establishments decant wine or have a... More

We stayed at Ardtara last week, and have to say we were disappointed on many different levels. The bathroom in particular would need a deep clean once the hot water is enabled in the shower. The food was ordinary and the service at breakfast in particular left a lot to be desired. No doubt it is difficult to operate an old country... A characterful old building with rooms to match and a welcome personal touch. The rooms are spacious and come with nice touches like a chaise longue or roll top bath. The restaurant serves simple but very good food.

We came with friends. Room big if a bit dated. Nice coffee/tea biscuits. Shower forceful and hot, just how I like it. Bed comfortable. Dinner was surprisingly good. Duck confit app great. The other appetizers were also good. Salmon, chicken and ribeye great. Wine list reasonable and good. Service was very friendly. Sometimes a bit slow and thy forgot some... More

Very nice country house feel and vibe. Slightly off the main road but worth the small detour into rolling countryside and calmness. Nice food and good service. One of the Blue Book hotels and up to that standard and quality. Charming hotel with character. Would recommend for quiet weekend or for a business traveller who wants to stay away from... More
