My partner and I decided to spend the night here after hearing that it had been taken over by browns and the head chef was Eddie atwell, knowing Eddie and the amazing food he produces it was the right choice, everything about the place is stunning and the staff are very helpful and friendly. We had the tasting menu and... More

I have visited Ardtara on a few occasions and it always is an experience. I love the setting and the décor and the over obsequious staff but this last visit was very disappointing. A six course taster menu and we both thought only two of the courses were nice. I know 2 out of 3 ain't bad but 2 out... More

We just stayed for one night at the end of December. It was a very positive experience and we hope to return soon. When we were shown to our room, the gas fire was already lit and the room was cosy and welcoming. The furniture is antique and each room is uniquely decorated. Some furniture is a bit worn around... This was our second family celebration in 2014 in ArdTara, the New Year Celebration. In the first instance we couldn't confirm numbers until the actual day and the staff were very helpful and accommodating even though they were maxed out for the night - Valerie even remembered we were there there in July when I rang to book!. The service... More

Had a wonderful meal with family to celebrate granny's 80th birthday. Staff couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. Very warm atmosphere - we had a cosy private function room with fire. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, food and service was excellent.

Lovely country house hotel. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed by friendly staff. Our room, although at the rear of the house was big with high ceiling and with a good bathroom a large double bed and a cosy working gas fire. The lounge although small was well furnished with comfortable chairs. The bar was a similar size to... More

Visited Ardtara in October 2014 midweek. Got a great rate for 2 nights B&B with 1 evening meal. We were the only guests there and it was great! VIP treatment from Scott who was on duty throughout our stay. Arrived late and had drinks in the bar by the fire and as we had missed dinner we had bought some... More

I've been to ardtara several times and always have been impressed with the standard of service and quality of food. Wine choice is second to none and all rooms have cosy working gas fires. The Chablis is best I've tasted and house Merlot is smooth and great pairing with their steak dishes. Not many establishments decant wine or have a... More

We stayed at Ardtara last week, and have to say we were disappointed on many different levels. The bathroom in particular would need a deep clean once the hot water is enabled in the shower. The food was ordinary and the service at breakfast in particular left a lot to be desired. No doubt it is difficult to operate an old country...
