This was our 1st time here but it won't be our last. From the moment we stepped inside the hotel it was like stepping back in time(but in a good way),the rooms were perfect, the food was to die for but what made this really special were the staff, they were amazing and so friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We went for a couple... Very nice country house feel and vibe. Slightly off the main road but worth the small detour into rolling countryside and calmness. Nice food and good service. One of the Blue Book hotels and up to that standard and quality. Charming hotel with character. Would recommend for quiet weekend or for a business traveller who wants to stay away from... More

We stayed only the one night and shared the entire Country House with a holidaying Polish man. The charm and character of the building is matched by the devotion of the owner who was simply everywhere. Our room was excellent as was our experience with the dining room for both dinner and breakfast. Like most buildings of its age there... More

This place is wonderful. The staff were absolutely lovely. I booked late on a Saturday after a shocking experience on the Friday night and was lucky enough to take advantage of a late cancellation. We were given a garden view room which was absolutely gorgeous. Great bathroom with a beautiful big bath and so quiet .... we slept like logs.... More

We booked this as we had a blue book voucher, and to be honest our stay was average. The staff were great, and the house was nice. But all the food was ok, but no better than that. The bedroom was quite nice, but neither of us slept well in the bed, for whatever reason that was. There really is... More

I took my extended family to The Ardtara Country House, for a special occasion on 17th May. Having been here before about 10 years ago I was delighted to be back. Just as I remembered, it has all the charm and character that is expected of Country House. We were treated to drinks in the lounge whilst our meals were... More

I recently visited Ardtara House with my girlfriend's family for a special occasion and we were looking to have a lovely 3 course meal. I must say the location is superb with fantastic gardens surrounding the house. The house itself could do with a coat of white or cream paint but it was full of charm but I did notice... More

We regret that your meals were not up to your expectations. In acknowledgement of this (on a very busy Saturday evening), we offered complimentary drinks for your entire party and no charge for your private room. If you wish to return (and we hope you do) we believe that you will be as pleased as the other 40 diners were... More

Perfect location for exploring Northern Ireland (eg Causeway Trail, Antrim coast, Derry). Good points: charming (if slightly amateur) staff, good food with a relaxed "country house" vibe. It is a lovely building and location with antiques and good facilities. Less good points: It is getting tired - cracked windows, peeling paint and so on. But 4 stars for the lovely... More
