This hotel is located just outside the city centre of Louhans. The city is very nice and the location of this hotel is wonderful. Very green, very peaceful. Unfortunately, we did not like the hotel itself. It seemed all a bit rundown. Doors that did not close because they did not fit properly (of bathroom, shower, cabinets), dirty toilet. Furthermore: there... More

an impressive looking property is all I can compliment this hotel on. We booked to stay on a Sunday arriving around 6pm after a 450mile drive, to find the bar & restaurant inside the hotel closed it was not possible to get a cup of coffee or even a drink of water! A gentleman gave us a key to our... More

Having been told that the hotel we had booked into was closed for renovations we stumbled upon this hotel. Very friendly staff but a bit thin on the ground as it was such a quiet period. The room on the first floor was warm and comfortable but a bit on the small side . Wonderful views of the river. We... More

I hesitate to share this "find"... it's such a treasure at 67 Euro/$90 US. Located in a quiet corner of Louhans, France, this wonderful little hotel is a breath of fresh air. The rooms were quite large by European standards but what we enjoyed most was the view outside our window. The hotel actually straddles the river Seille. The grounds... More

This hotel had a great location, very calm and pretty and near enough to walk to the town. We were pleasantly surprised after viewing the other hotels in the town. Our room overlooked the river which was beautiful. A lot of money had obviously been spent on the bar, lounge and dining room. We thought the dining room was superb... More

Having stayed in a few hotels that have been converted from old mills, expectations were high. Arriving, the building is impressive - a huge stone water mill building in a small park, with a large lake behind it. Plenty of people milling about outside, so obviously a popular location. The ground floor houses reception and a bar. The bar was... More

Stunning building and location. They could invest some money in updating the rooms. I had a large attic room with two single beds. Fine for my purposes - 1 night away but would have tired of it quite soon. Very basic furnishing and decor, telly older than my nan's (tiny portable with all the colours blurred). I treated myself to... More

The hotel is set in superb surroundings; it is an old mill which sits on top of a dam. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The room we were given was very large and comfortable with lovely views over the dam and the garden. At night the only noise was the wildlife and as there was very little light... More

Stayed here as a couple with one child this summer. For dinner, the restaurant is simply superb with an excellent price-quality ratio. Nice view from the restaurant out over the lake which borders the hotel. Friendly staff and warmly recommended. As such, the building of the hotel is impressive. The rooms are, as also noted by other reviewers, a bit... More
