We held a family celebration at The Fleece this week. it could not have been better. The food was completely delicious (we had Lancashire hot pot), the pub looked really lovely and the staff were just fantastic and could not have been more helpful.

We enjoyed a great meal in a great country pub.We were there for my Son's 30th birthday. The staff were welcoming and ensured our evening went well. The pub has a great atmosphere and having been recently rennovated is comfortable. The selection of food is good and nicely presented. We will be returning soon

Have visited the Fleece now in several occasions for food & it still fails to impress. The girls are inattentive & don't check to see if the meal is up to standard until the end, by which time it's too late. I had a spillage the last time I went, the waitress brought me fresh cutlery & serviette & went... More

We had a evening meal here with a group of people, first time here. The pub has been renovated with a modern feel to it, I am a big fan of the old style country pubs with plenty of seating but it still looks ok, stone flags and exposed timber joists about the place, there is one bar with a... An excellent lunch venue for our small walking group. A warm welcome from friendly staff - a fire was lit for us. Good food, first class ingredients, well presented, great value. Would certainly recommend for quality and value.

Visited for dinner, so the rating is for the dining experience. Wonderfully arranged plates. Very generous portions. Excellent main course (homemade steak and ale pie / rump steak), and the dessert (crème brûlée) was to die was. Friendly staff. Visited on a Friday evening, but was no big problem even if we were seated close to the bar are.

The Fleece is close to family, so we chose to go there for lunch. We've been there several times before when under previous ownership, and were interested to see what the new owner bringing to the property. They have clearly invested significantly in upgrading the property and, in spite of the fact that renovations were clearly ongoing, the changes they... More

Had a lovely Sunday evening in the Fleece food great and great value. The Inn is traditional warm and cosy and the dinning area being separate from the bar area feels like once you've finished eating you can relax by the fire comfortably and carry in enjoying you evening

Last night I met up with friends who had all travelled quite a long way to eat at the Fleece. We had a very good meal, pleasant service, and an enjoyable evening. HOWEVER. I was quite alarmed on arrival to find that the menu was completely different from the one on the website. It was very much more restricted (no... More
