After a beautiful drive through the countryside, we come across the fleece inn and decided to stop for what we thought would be an average pub lunch, how wrong we were, the food was outstanding! I felt like I was 5* dining, excellent staff and also lovely dining area, there was work going on but nothing which disturbed the visit!... More

This was the nearest pub to our B&B so we decided to give it a try. The pub was very busy but we were served with drinks very quickly and the bar staff let my husband try the local beer to see if he liked it. Despite there being 8 of us and the restaurant area being quite busy we... More

We have been here many times over the years, it is dog friendly , has a nice garden , good food and a lovely cosy atmosphere. It has recently been taken over by a local buissness man who is renovating it, adding more guest rooms and a large extention. The garden has also had a revamp and it looks like... More

We arrived and it took almost 30 minutes to even get a menu. When we did get our menu we ordered another beer which the barman forgot. We finally ordered after 45 minutes. 40 minutes later I went to the bar and inquired strongly about not getting our meal. Amazingly it suddenly was there. Three of the meals were cold... More

We had been staying nearby and decided to pop in for an evening meal. I'm glad we did as the food was delicious. I had the chicken curry from the specials board and my husband had the steak pie. The children enjoyed a meal from the children's menu (not a vast choice) the curry was extremely tasty and was served... More

The food is remarkably tasteless.Black pudding and haggis seemed like a good idea but was so dry. When we told the waitress she didnt give us any feedback or say that she would pass our comments on to the chef.We were asked if we would like any sauces with our main meal but as mine had not arrived it was difficult... We held a family celebration at The Fleece this week. it could not have been better. The food was completely delicious (we had Lancashire hot pot), the pub looked really lovely and the staff were just fantastic and could not have been more helpful.

We enjoyed a great meal in a great country pub.We were there for my Son's 30th birthday. The staff were welcoming and ensured our evening went well. The pub has a great atmosphere and having been recently rennovated is comfortable. The selection of food is good and nicely presented. We will be returning soon

Have visited the Fleece now in several occasions for food & it still fails to impress. The girls are inattentive & don't check to see if the meal is up to standard until the end, by which time it's too late. I had a spillage the last time I went, the waitress brought me fresh cutlery & serviette & went... More

We had a evening meal here with a group of people, first time here. The pub has been renovated with a modern feel to it, I am a big fan of the old style country pubs with plenty of seating but it still looks ok, stone flags and exposed timber joists about the place, there is one bar with a...
