We took our "Aussie" family here the night before they left to go back to Oz. We were given a table in the bar because the main restaurant is closed on Mondays. Everything was okay but I felt disappointed. I'd been to the Bedford Arms many times before, mostly to functions or celebrations. The food was usually very good and... More

I recently organised a family get together to celebrate our parents 60th wedding anniversary at The Bedford Arms. We have visited this hotel many times over the years and although we did look at other venues I'm really pleased we booked The Bedford Arms. It's a lovely hotel, pub, restaurant in a beautiful village with really nice gardens to sit... More

My friend and I spent one night at the Bedford Arms before a reunion the following day. I'd decided against staying in a cheaper, chain hotel in Watford as this one wasn't far from the venue of the reunion, nor from Harry Potter Studios where I'd visited that day. The pictures on the internet suggested the rooms looked quite fussily... More

We've been here twice in the recent past to eat and drink. The first time we ordered from the bar but ate our lunch in the Chess Room as it was a very nice day and there was no room elsewhere. We had a ploughmans with a very generous amount of cheese and crusty bread with pickle. There was also... More

We don't go here often maybe a dozen times a year, it is not our local probably a 20 minute drive away. We usually go in the summer as the gardens are pretty to sit in and enjoy the sunshine, although have also visited in the winter when it is cold outside and cosy inside. Whenever we go we always... Stayed here for 4 days as we came to London from Manchester for a wedding in early August. The surroundings are very English countryside and the hotel fitted into them perfectly! The room was very quaint if not a little dated in decor however we spoke to the owner and they had only taken it over in March this year... More

We chose to eat outside on a warm, balmy evening (not that often in England) in a quiet garden setting. Our meals were excellent but took a little time, probably because they were catering for a small private wedding reception. The sea bass was outstanding. The four of us chose different deserts and shared (each as good as the other).... More

I had afternoon tea at the Bedford Arms with friends recently and it was just lovely. We could choose where we wanted to sit for the experience. It would have been nice in the garden, but as it was windy we chose to sit in the cocktail bar. we were served a very nice pot of tea and the usual... More
