We booked four nights in one of the Lodges as a base to travel around the Wye Valley The staff were welcoming and our key was available immediately ,the lodge was a little compact but clean and tidy and more than adequate for our needs, parking directly outside. The grounds are lovely, tennis courts a little jaded but useable and the bowling... More

Country house in beautiful peaceful location, with pool, croquet lawn etc. and wood panelled public rooms. My bedroom was newly refurbished, very clean, nicely done in taupes and creams. Very comfortable with free wifi ;-) and TV plus cd player in the room. A very pleasant surprise, I could not have wanted much better. The corridors and staircases do look... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely Hotel. The staff were very welcoming and our children really enjoyed the outdoors facilities.(swimming pool was well used!) The food is very traditional and of high quality, with focus on using local produce. Overall a very pleasant experience.

There are a number of very nice, small hotels in the Wye Valley - this isn't one of them. I chose this hotel because the building and grounds looked interesting and there was a good discount offered. The room smelt musty and the bed was ancient and uncomfortable , although the shower/ bathroom room seemed newer and was fine. What... More

The hotel is beautiful and the grounds are stunning! The negative points the breakfast comes in a small portion, there was a Christian group there so breakfast was a little awkward. The Christian group were asking people to join their meetings which was nice of them don't get me wrong however just felt it was slightly awkward for the guests... More

It is a magnificent old building set in large beautiful grounds. In line with the main building being so old the rooms were rather basic but comfortable(The shower took a while to heat up) We went into St Briavels, which is close by, and were in two minds whether to eat at the pub there, or back at Lindors. We... More

The staff were very helpful with all requests and did their best to make this an excellent stay. New management recently is making a strong impact. The Christian part of the hotel is very much in the background and can easily be ignored (I had thought this a little off-putting previously, but I was mistaken). The rooms are confusingly sited... Last minute getaway, on the cheap so wasn't expecting the earth but nevertheless were disappointed. It's basically a Christian conference centre/hotel which sells its spare rooms on line. The setting is lovely but the service, state of the rooms and cleanliness were not in our experience. We overhead staff moaning about other guests on two occasions and at checkout staff... More

This is a beautiful place. The house is in the most amazing grounds. Lovely walks and great views. And that is where the positives stop. We have just spent a few days here in the lodges. I thought the Lodges were great, they do look good (the wife thought they were basic). Unfortunately the Wifi is really really bad. In... More

Comfortable stay in an old fashioned, genteel, country house hotel set in beautiful and tranquil grounds. Loved hearing the sounds of the birds and the waterfall. Good cooked breakfast. The pool looked lovely, wish we'd had more time to use it. There was a large Christian group staying and it was nice having a chat and meeting other guests. You... More
