We were 4 and had the house to ourselves. We visited Kandy, did water rafting, climbed Adam's Peak and toured around the tea plantations. But... More

Renting a whole house with staff in a wonderful rural environment was an unexpected highlight of our tour of Sri Lanka. The house is beautifully furnished; the food feels like real 'home cooking' and the team could not do enough for us.

We have just returned from Sri Lanka and spent four nights with our four children at The Weir House. We felt so warmly welcomed by the attentive staff who ensured our every need was met. From the beautiful house with its luxurious accommodation, well stocked bookshelf/DVDs, the rain forest surroundings, atmospheric candlelit evenings, afternoon teas and homemade cakes, the wildlife... First of all the property designed by famous Sri Lankan architect Mr Geoffrey Bawa, is a real masterpiece. It's absolutely stunning - very interesting building with tastefully decorated interiors situated in very peaceful and beautiful area. This is the place where you can truly... More

Thank you for your kind words and we are so glad that you had a great time at the Weir House. I just wanted to correct one small misconception and that is that the house was designed by a student of Geoffrey Bawa and not by Bawa. Thank you for your lovely comments on the food and service and we... More

The Weir house is a private holiday home that is rented out when the owners are absent. We received a warm welcome from Lucian who manages the home with the help of a cook and house boy who were also on hand to greet us with the best cold watermelon/lime drink of our trip. We had our choice of 3... More

We stayed three nights at Weir House. It was great - Lucien and his team were welcoming and informative, the rooms were fabulous as was the food and the location, tucked away in the hills, is wonderful. We enjoyed being showed around the coffee and pepper plantation, taking a dip in the river and sharing time in the sumptuous surroundings. Although... More

Lucien and all the staff could not have done more to welcome us. Lesley's cooking was fabulous, utterly delicious. Each meal was such a treat. And Lucien's kindness in showing us around the pepper...
