We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The rooms were clean and comfy. Breakfast was served to our group in the breakfast room on site (sometimes breakfast is served at the sister hotel across the busy main road). Our room had a view over the narrow road outside, even so there was no noise from the road. The hotel... More

I stayed at the Plaza Colonial Hotel in early March 2015 for 2-nights, as a base for visiting the pleasant archaeological site of Edzná and (of course !) the attractive city of Campeche, before continuing to the archaeological site of Palenque the following day, on the third stage of my 18-day 'Mysteries of the Maya' holiday operated by Voyages Jules... This hotel is built on 2 sites across a busy crossroads from each other. It is possible that you may have a room in one and have to go to the other for meals. There is a pool and a breakfast room (which was made available to our party) on the newer of the sites. Rooms were very clean and... More

Town centre hotel, very close to cathedral square and 59th street with bars and food. Room was very spacious and clean with all faculties in working order including very efficient a/c. It is however, functional rather than anything special. We had a 2 night stay. Breakfast buffet was limited but well cooked and filling.

We just stayed 1 night at Plaza Colonial, Campeche. The location is super, very close to the main plaza. We had a very big and clean room, with 2 double beds. But the room was not very cozy. It was to big for what was in it. So e.g.we missed some seats and a small table, and there was place... More

Great small hotel with good service, it's all new so the rooms are nice and good sized. The pool and "lounge" area is small because it's the small sister of Hotel Plaza Campeche but it has a feeling of a boutique hotel. No dinning area but one can go grab breakfast across the street to the Plaza Hotel or even... More

As is so often the case, the Colonial has all the right ingredients but still manages to drop the ball in some ways. Be aware, the Colonial is (to my mind) an overflow 'wing' of the sister hotel - the Plaza Campeche located just across the road. A lot of these reviews are written by French/Italian tour groups of the... More

This hotel has been recently refurbished so the amenities are in very good shape. Room was clean fresh and comfortable. The location is excellent just around the corner from main bus route stop at Caille 10 and just off the zocalo by the cathedral. The hotel is quite formal and not particularly friendly. The counter staff was pretty useless, unable... More

We stayed in a junior suite. This suite was quite big and nice. There was a big flat screen TV. The air conditioning made some weird noises, but worked well. The location was very good. It was 5 minute walk to the Malecon. If you want to go for a run, there is a great, 6 km long, running track... More

We arrived in Campeche with no guide book related pre conceptions and boy! were we amazed! This city truly is a unique Mexican experience. Its belongs to the Mexicans that reside there. Its a cross between the North Laines in Brighton (UK) and Havana. Beside one bus of French Art Lovers, we heard to other English/American accents, although, I'm sure,... More
