Working in Cardiff 3 days a week I needed somewhere to come and wind down on an evening, this place is perfect, great comfy room well furnished and very clean, you get a fantastic home cooked breakfast with a smile from Nina and family, love 'living' here with my adopted family!

Excellent hotel/B&B. Fabulous surrounding in the Vale of Glamorgan. Extremely clean and well designed, modern rooms. The furniture looked new and the shower/bathroom also seemed new Lovely breakfast and lovely people. Would definitely stay again and recommend. You can also take dogs. If the weather had been nicer we would have sat outside and enjoy the gardens alyson

I must agree with previous reviewers that Nina is a very friendly and helpful host. The Great Barn looks good from the outside but we were disappointed when shown our room (the Coral room) as it was dated and had a few cobwebs around the windows and sweet papers under the bed. The biggest disappointment was the en-suite shower room.... More

I went to Great Barn for a few days of peace and quiet needed to finish off a book manuscript and was not disappointed. Good quality accommodation with excellent breakfasts and a great host. Decor in rooms is good but a little dated and ensuite shower room a bit basic with plastic basin and the most basic of Mira showers.... More

We were one of two couples staying overnight for a wedding nearby. The lady who runs it, Nina, was very welcoming and even drew maps for us to get us to our onward destination (much quicker routes than sat-nav although sat-nav did get us to the B&B without any problems) and was lovely to chat to at breakfast. We stayed... More

We stayed in a family room for one night. The room was a generous size despite four of us sleeping. We had a double sofa bed for ourselves and two singles for our children. Clean and quiet (slight noise from people upstairs moving around) and a very picturesque setting. The welcome was very friendly and the breakfast was fresh and... More

Such a warm friendly welcome the bedrooms are beautiful bathrooms excellent and the breakfast delicious. So near to Cardiff too. The views are amazing aprticularly at night you can see Exmoor and Somerset twinkling across the channel. The stars on a clear night are worth staring at from the lovely gardens as there are no street lights to spoil the... More

This place was great. You arrival takes you up a stunning country side driveway to the fabulous place that is the Great Barn. The owners are very accomodating, wifi works perfectly, clean tidy place with beautiful views from the bedrooms and a lovely breakfast in the morning. Rates are very affordable too.

If you are looking for a very clean, up-to-date room with an excellent breakfast close to Cardiff, then this is your place. My wife & I had a relaxing evening here and were well-pleased with the accomodations. I must admit that the room, although decorated superbly, lacked a certain amount of charm that I might have expected from a converted... More
