The feeling of the Rectory is primarily of politeness. The original building is very 'proper' and genteel. I found the owner to be the same- extremely polite, proper & gentlemanly. I stayed in the new build which was secure, comfortable & clean. I was travelling alone so the room size was fine for me, though it may be a bit... More

We came across the Rectory by chance having to find last minute accomodation en route from Inverness to London. We didn't realise it involved a ten hour drive mind you. But oh what a treat to find this place late afternoon and so close/convenient to everything. We were in one of the "apartments" in the converted shed complex to the... More

Excellent high standard of room, lounge and dining room, grounds and accessibility to the city. Good breakfast. Loved the egg boiler.

We stayed in the cottage, which is an annex to the main house, available for groups of six maximum. The rooms are a good size, with 2 doubles and a twin available and the living area is large. Somewhat bizarrely, the kitchen is locked when you arrive and is not accessible from the living room. I assume this is to... More

The Old Rectory can be found on a site called smoothound. The advert says Quality Bed and Breakfast in a historical home. If you are ever tempted to book at this place DONT!!! The owner of this crumbling dilapadated place, which admittedley looks very nice in the photos, let us in, gave us a key, and that was the last... More
