We've never had a B&B experience like this before. The house and its surroundings tell a lot of stories of former times and Richard could tell a lot of them. We were welcomed with a cup of tea and self-made cookies and cakes. We had the back room with a great view over the garden and the lake, so quiet... More

We just loved staying here for so many reasons. The hosts were extraordinarily welcoming and kind and so helpful, the situation was so picturesque with interesting walks all so helpfully explained by our host. The breakfast was delicious with homemade walnut bread and superb home made jam all beautifully served in the gorgeous dining room. Drawingroom was another lovely room... More

Richard and Liz Collins of St. John's House, Lecarrow, County Roscommon were wonderful hosts. Liz cooked a delicious, welcoming afternoon tea and a wonderful breakfast with home-made compotes, scrambled eggs and smoked salmon and much else besides. Richard regaled us with tales of the beautiful property and gave us excellent instructions to assist us on a good, 90 minute tour... More

We only stayed for one night at St Johns House but the next time we stay, it will definitely be a longer visit. It is a beautiful house in a beautiful location. Richard and Liz were friendly and helpful. Richard even made gooseberry compote for breakfast after I told him that I had never tried gooseberries. He gave us a... More

Richard Collins and his wife Liz operate a lovely Bed & Breakfast in Lecarrow, Co.Roscommon on the banks of Lough Ree. The property surrounding the house provides for interesting walks and exploration of Rinn Duin an Anglo-Norman town with well preserved fortifications, windmills, and church. There is also a working farm within the confines of the property. Both are well... More

We spent four nights in August, and really, we could have stayed longer. We arrived after a long driving day and Richard and Liz met us at the door and offered tea & cookies (and Powers) in the drawing room. After a wonderful sleep, we appreciated the warm peat fire in the dining room, the breakfast was perfect, and as... More

We stayed here in June 2014, our welcome was warm and the cup of tea most welcome. Our room over looked Lock Ree and was really wonderful. We both agree on our next trip to Ireland this is a must stay. I absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to relax for a few days
