I am unable to actually review the hotel itself and it's services because my booking which I made via booking.com to stay at the Black Dog Inn was cancelled by the hotel on the very morning I was due to stay there! We had travelled a 3 hour drive to spend the day at monkey world then stay the night... More

Recently stayed at the Black Dog Inn for a weekend break, decor of bedroom was a bit dated but comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the home cooked food was really delicious and plenty of it and the Real Ales on tap made the weekend even better.

Just had a two day weekend break here, the room was basic but the food and staff make up for this. Lovely local village pub with a good atmosphere and great Real Ales on tap. Close to some lovely local attractions - worth a visit.

Had a family get together at this friendly inn - immediately greeted by a smiling friendly waitress who showed us to our table - service was fabulous throughout, waitress Hollie was attentive and professional, nothing was too much trouble. Food was lovely and promptly served, beer garden has a great play area for kids, will definitely be returning.

I recently stay at the Black dog Inn i would like to thank all the members for staff . They are a credit to a wonderful local pub in a beautiful location. Clean rooms and good home cooked food. Owners went above and beyond.

We were very disappointed with our stay and would not be returning. The room was very basic and not very clean, the glasses for water were very old and looked like they were just bought up from the pub and were so old and dirty looking that I drank water from a bottle as too horrible to drink from. As... More

Friendly welcome from the owners, staff and locals. Clean comfortable rooms and good home cooked food. Reaonable cost for B&B and food. Lots to see in the local area. Located in a small country village and the pub has the same feel. Have been before and will be again.

we drove past this place yesterday (Sunday) and saw a sign outside that said open Monday to Saturday 12 till 2pm. Fabulous! we thought as we needed to plan a long walk the next day and needed a lunch stop. We walked for 8 miles on Monday and arrived at about 12 45. The sign was still there outside of... More

Booked this as result of reading the reviews and I have to say I was disappointed. We stayed one night to attend a family wedding. Upon arrival we were presented with the bill for the nights stay and then shown to our room which was accessed via the bar and up a narrow stair case. The room was clean and... More

I contacted the Black Dog in the Afternoon Inquiring if they were serving food. I was informed that they would be 6-9pm that evening I went down there and saw a friend who proceeded to buy me a drink and we had a chat. I requested a menu and was happily handed one.. After a while, I asked if I... More
