Booked the Black Dog as a last minute thing, we were warmly welcomed and a very nice place to stay, the room was recently refurbished and very well appointed. The foodie the bar is just great for an evening meal and extremely well priced. I would highly recommend staying and eating at this public house.

We had a really nice meal at The Black Dog, which obviously undergone a refurb. The service was good, the portion sizes generous and the beer garden has a climbing/playslide for kids. Recommend the Steak Suet pudding so long as you can have a good walk afterwards.

We arrived here at 1700 on Bank Holiday Sunday for a one night stay booked through Booking.com last November. The pub was closed down, with shiny metal shutters on all the windows and 2 to 3 feet high grass in the beer garden, suggesting it had been closed for some time!! I can't understand why we weren't informed and it... More

I am unable to actually review the hotel itself and it's services because my booking which I made via booking.com to stay at the Black Dog Inn was cancelled by the hotel on the very morning I was due to stay there! We had travelled a 3 hour drive to spend the day at monkey world then stay the night... More

Recently stayed at the Black Dog Inn for a weekend break, decor of bedroom was a bit dated but comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the home cooked food was really delicious and plenty of it and the Real Ales on tap made the weekend even better.

Just had a two day weekend break here, the room was basic but the food and staff make up for this. Lovely local village pub with a good atmosphere and great Real Ales on tap. Close to some lovely local attractions - worth a visit.

Had a family get together at this friendly inn - immediately greeted by a smiling friendly waitress who showed us to our table - service was fabulous throughout, waitress Hollie was attentive and professional, nothing was too much trouble. Food was lovely and promptly served, beer garden has a great play area for kids, will definitely be returning.

I recently stay at the Black dog Inn i would like to thank all the members for staff . They are a credit to a wonderful local pub in a beautiful location. Clean rooms and good home cooked food. Owners went above and beyond.
