Thank you to Antbear Lodge. We had such a wonderful time as a family. The Ambience is fantastic (the woodwork is exceptional), food was great. The staff at Antbear are friendly, the Manager was caring and very accommodating. Overall a Great experience! Thank you to Andrew, Connie and Joan

After 35 kms of potholes and gravel from the N3, you reach Antbear Guesthouse, but it is definitely worth the trek. We enjoyed the warm welcome from the host, Andrew, and the lovely views over the green valley, with the Drakensberg peaks in the background. The thatched cottages are clean, spacious and comfortable, with nice amenities like fireplace and jacuzzi.... More

Oh boy! For a Brit used to paved roads the several miles of dirt track to this guest house is a little intimidating. Once there its a wonderful place with quality accommodation, wonderful views and lovely staff. The rooms are well furnished and contain some of the most eccentric, individualistic wood working I have ever seen, bizarre hinges and handles... More

We spend a 2 night weekend at this lodge. After a long drive from Johannesburg we arrived and welcomed by Andrew. Our suite was lovely clean and plenty of space with a lovely fireplace, the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom had a Jacuzzi bath and open shower and supplies of shampoos etc. The whole lodge has been built in... More

We really loved this place. The owners, Andrew and Connie, were lovely and Graham, the manager, was great. They take a lot of pride in what they have here, and it is apparent. The main building – dining room, bar, lounge – all impressive. Furnishings and fixtures are beautifully crafted. We had the Cave – definitely worth it – fabulous... More

Travelling back to Jo'burg from the South Coast with overseas visitors, we decided on an overnight stop in the Berg to break the journey. Randomly selected Antbear Lodge for its location and oh boy did we win the jackpot!! Exceptional accommodation, wonderful staff and management team. Just a few km from the high way on a scenic drive to a most unusual and unique lodge-guest house. Every room a masterpiece in its own right with the crafted wood work making it amazing in every way, The main building is outstanding with so much attention to detail offering a view second to non. The visit to Antbear was built up with anticipation! I travel to this area often With my hiking groups, but had not stayed at this particular lodge before. On arrival we were met by the manager and shown our quarters! We were tired after a long drive from St. Lucia. Dinner was greta and we appreciated the personal touches Andrews... More
