Was really uncomfortable and the food was average. I had a really creepy feeling as we drove up the isolated dirt road. We had to do "karma yoga" which mean housekeeping, cleaning toilets and sweeping.

A yoga ashram, a retreat centre and a yoga school all in one... this place is hard to put into words! Spending time here even for a few days nourishes the body, mind and soul. Fantastic vegetarian food, surrounded by nature, and a variety of yoga and meditation classes with internationally renowned teachers. Peace, quiet and time to connect with... More

Hidden up in the valley along a dirt road one then enters a near picture perfect location where the weather changes but the winds often miss. Stayed here in May/June 2013 and the weather was changeable - warm, cool, wet and dry. The relaxing and peaceful environment allows the inner self to become alive and experience the senses that come... More

Very nice relaxed place, great to come for a personal retreat for a weekend or more, I felt that I got more out of it by staying longer (almost two weeks!) and got to know the place and the people. Can feel a bit strange at first as people wear different colours depending on their level in the ashram and... More

I have been to the Ashram 5 or so times over the last 10 years. It never fails to soothe and relax the body and still the mind. The food is vegetarian and excellent. Room facilities are simple but adequate. The location is lovely and the entire centre generally has a peaceful, tranquil feel to it. I cannot wait to... More

I have traveled to Mangrove on a couple of occasions, a couple of times for a personal retreat, where I was able to enjoy the amazing bush, delicious and nourishing fooding, plentiful yoga classes and general Ashram vibe whilst relaxing deeply and enjoying some time apart. I have recently taken my daughter to the Family Yoga week and she loved... More

I speak very highly of Mangrove Yoga Ashram. For me it is truly 'a home away from home.' To get to the ashram I took the local school bus from Gosford station. I must say, this was an eye opener - the kids were loud and boisterous, I laughed most the way through shock! Friends of mine had driven to... More

Mangrove Mountain Ashram is a rare place in this frantic world. Set in a glorious river side setting it is a haven of peace for people who want to get away and refresh and rejuvenate themselves. The people, food and amenities are great, and there is a variety of accommodation to choose from. There are lots of great yoga programs... More
