Earlier reviews highlight a few problems with this hotel. The staff, surprisingly, can be a little on the uninterested bordering on churlish side. Breakfast was perfectly acceptable but average. Dinner was also an adequate but undistinguished affair. The riverside rooms have lovely views and securing one ought to be your aim - the one we had was large and well... More

Many of the reviews (including guide-book 'Top picks') led us to book Emin Efendi for our stay in beautiful Amasya, and certainly the grand character of the place is beyond doubt. The room was large, comfortable and beautifully situated by the river - so no complaints there, and it's a very convenient location. The big let down, from check-in to... More

Amasya is not exactly on the foreign tourist radar which, in some ways, is a pity as this town is a delight. It has history – ancient tombs, citadels, mosques –and is set in an idyllic location surrounded by mountains with a river running through its’ centre. It also seems to be the wedding capital of this part of Turkey!... More

Beautiful konak (turkish mansion) situated on the river right next to the king graves in a small and one way pedestrian street. Some of them has a cozy balcony for max. 4 people where you can have dinner if you are lucky (we were:-) thanks to our only turkish speaking waiter)! The only bad thing was the shower which was... The other part is acroos the the main hotel building with a garden inside with seperate rooms. If you choose this side especially in winter you may get cold, heating is a bit problem... More

Amasya is a very very old city located in a narrow cleft of the Yesilirmak (Iris) river. It's history goes back 7,500 years. Hittites, Pontus, Greek, Roman and ottoman Empires passed through these lands. Ottomans used to send their princes (veliaht) to this city which had 17 Universities for education and to build up and improve their governance experience. With... More

This is a lovely property in the old quarter of Amasya on the northern bank of the Yesilirmak River. The hotel consists of several adjacent buildings and it pays to ensure you are booked into the right one. There are riverfront rooms available and these are the best option. Failing this, get a street view room. The noisiest rooms are... More

Friendly service, amazing location and beautiful rooms. The only problem was the quality of the breakfast which was very very disappointing! But if you can ignore that, definitely best stay in Amasya.

When we first saw the hotel from the opposite bank of the river it was all we ever imagined it to be. The area is a photograhers dream and lends itself to exploring but is also just across the river from the bustling modern city. We were booked in to one of the annexes in a large room on the... In the heart of the breathtaking Amasya , Emin Efendi is located on the river with a beautiful view , clean , well restored to meet the Ottoman historical enviroment of Amasya .
