My wife and I travelled to kenya in late August and one of the three game parks we visited was Amboseli and stayed at the Serena Lodge. We found the lodge to be extremely comfortable and tastefully decorated. Plenty of food and choice which meant you could always find something you liked. Lodge staffs were very friendly and helpful. All the Serena lodges we stayed at were wonderful, this one stands out as the rooms were particularly good, the food excellent and the bar areas comfortable. We saw lots of animals including lions, elephants, hippos and a cheetah. Fabulous views of Mount Kilimanjaro.

My wife and i stayed here for Two nights as part of our three 3 camp Safaari Vacation after a night in Nairobi at the Great Norfolk Hotel. WOW, what a place. Go expecting a TON of food. Be certain to sign up for the BUSH 7 course dinner and Dance by the Massai People. You will be glad that you... More

This is a very "average" lodge with very "above average" prices. It's part of the big Serena chain owned by the Aga Khan. Amboseli is turning into a desert with very little game left this year so if you really want to see animals go to the Maasai Mara or into Tanzania. Several lodges near the Serena have shut down.... We travelled to Amboseli with our safari guide, and upon entry to the park it gave the impression of being a dessert, and we couldn't imagine any wildlife being able to exist. Further into the park we found swamps that were full of wildlife, and we arrived at the Serena lodge, which was like a tropical lush paradise! They sit... More

We stayed two nights in Amboseli Serena in early August 2009. It turned out to be definitely of the best locations we stayed in Kenya and Tanzania. We received warm and friendly welcome, and were accommodated in a large and cozy room with all facilities of 4/5 star hotel. We really enjoyed the food there and actually every minute we... More

We stayed there for 3 nights on our honeymoon, before going to Zanzibar, and we were very impressed by the comfort and the staff! The food is excellent and we did also participate on a dinner which was a few hundred meters away from the lodge, where we could se animals pass few meters away during the night. The entertainment... This is a first class, fabulously managed lodge that exceeded all expectations. Our party of 9 family members (3 generations) considered this to be the best lodge during four weeks of safari, in Africa. From the immediate warm welcome on arrival, of cold beverage and face washer, we were quickly allocated our rooms and briefed on the lodge. The gardens... More

Our very first safari and we are so glad that we began our experience at Amboseli Serena! The entire staff at the lodge treats you like a VIP. It was "first class" all the way (even though we flew economy). The hotel staff is courteous, friendly, informative and cannot do enough for you. Our room was beautifully decorated, very clean... This Serena is fantastic. We had a fantastic room with king bed facing Mt. Kilimanjaro. The authentic African/Maasai design and decoration both inside the room and out was beautiful. Room was spotless and felt brand new. Bed was fabulous and room was very nice. Bathroom - excellent. The small touches were noticed and gave it the extra punch. Lodge itself... More

Situated on the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest Mountain; beside a copse of giant Acacia trees and gently flowing natural spring. In the clean, crisp air of an Amboseli dawn, the snowcapped peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro shimmering in the southern sky, you can sit atop a volcanic throne in the middle of the Masai plains and see the world. ... more   less
