Unfortunately we arrived in the pouring rain. The rooms are all outside and there are no covered walkways. Also the parking is a way away. So we got wet. Not too good a start. The hotel is a bit tired, both in the rooms and public areas. It was freezing cold and the panel heater did not do much to... More

Went to see the Breede river ferry and decided to stay for the night. The 5 course evening dinner was excellent followed by a great breakfast. The bedroom was clean & well kept and the staff and management were friendly & hospitable.

Actually we didn't have to row our own boat but we did rent one of the hotel's house boats. We only went for two nights as we had our six month old twins with us and weren't sure how things would work out. The twins were good as always but we learned that if both parents are keen to fish... More

Excellent location and setting by the Breede river - great hospitality, friendly staff & fantastic value for money - a set 5 course menu in the evening and a scrumptious breakfast all thrown in! What more could one ask for.

This friendly establishment was perfect for our end of the year family rest and we found the accommodation and food of a high quality. The children where kept busy outside with the trampolines, play gym area and the pool and river swimming. Inside, when they where finished eating and we where still busy, they could go to the play area... More

Overall fine. However, the hotel takes 50% of total booking upfront on credit card. You pay the remaining 50% on arrival. This is NOT best practice : major hotels worldwide hold the booking against your credit card and will charge 1 night per room booked in the case of a "no show". Furthermore, such hotels charge their guests on departure... More

Our payment policy does require a 50% Deposit on booking and the outstanding balance on arrival. We do not enforece guests to pay by credit card, they have the option to pay the Deposit by EFT or Card; and Cash or Card on arrival. During your stay your room number is open for any extras: Bar, Restaurant, Boats, Canoes. Most... More

Excellent stay at the hotel before Xmas, enjoyed the ambience and very friendly and helpful staff. A very good set menu 5 course meal on the Friday night. The Breede River setting is very relaxing and a good place to unwind on the river.

Ten years ago I stayed at this hotel and it was already apparent that they had not woken up to the fact that they are ideally positioned along a major birding route with huge potential to corner the bird tourism market and provide accommodation to hundreds of birders every year. I find it puzzling, to ascertain whether it is management... More

I phoned to make a booking and I was given a 20% discount for being a "senior citizen"! I never asked for it, but the receptionist picked up our birth dates from a previous booking. That is what I call good service. We were well received, were given the room we wanted, had a first class dinner (they have excellent... More

I can certainly understand why this hotel does not have any stars. The rooms and hotel decor are dated and hasn't been spring cleaned for a very long time. The towells are brown and tread bare( it was once white). The shower does not have a head and the shower curtain, wow... There are old dirt on the furnishings in... More

We value the opinions of our guests, It is unfortunate that you did not enjoy your stay with us. I wish you would have addressed this with us while you were staying at the Hotel. We are situated in a concervancy area and therefore most activities are outside, Unfortunately it was very windy over that weekend which make it unpleasant... More
