When friends asked me to come along on their return trip to Villa Agung on Bali, I had little to go on from their description - I believe the term 'a few nice huts, very close to the beach' was mentioned. So it was quite the surprise to discover the place actually is a wonderful small hotel (maximum capacity about... More

While not a bad experience, we found fault with a few things at the hotel. We were one of only two guests at what is a 12-16 room hotel staying two nights. For our first breakfast, we were given a menu with the two options but when we ordered, we learned that one option was out—amusing and innocent but an... More

We very much enjoyed the location of this resort. On arrival, we had lunch and Bintang. One must learn to say Saya Suda Puniya or Tiduk due to the persistence of local hawkers. That aside, everything else was fantastic. Lovina Beach has a calm atmosphere and warm sea for swimming. 20,000 Rp for a 2-3 hour sail on a local... More

We arrived with a sick 2yo in the late afternoon. We had discussions with the owners and by 10am the following morning they had taken us to a doctor, sat in as an interpreter, and taken us to a dispensary. The service of Gus and Sandy I could not find fault with. Being the parents mentioned in the previous post... More

My wife and I stayed here three years ago for two weeks so we were eager to see how the place looked after renovations. Villa Agung is, we are glad to say, still a wonderfully private spot to spend some time. The formerly horrendous beds have been spiffed up with new and comfortable mattresses. Every room now has air conditioning... More

This is about our 4th stay in Lovina and we have now decided that it is the place we love most in Bali and the place that we want to spend the most time in. The main reason we have decided this is because of Villa Agung. The other reason is the surrounds of Villa Agung including the beach people... More

We stayed in Villa Agung for 2 nights and this place was just perfect. We arrived after an exhausting trip from Java and found this place very relaxing. It's right at the beach and you can literally step from the hotel into the water. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The staff is very nice and super friendly. It's... More

What i am about to say is the truth and nothing but the truth!!!!! Take NO notice of that bad review, this place is a little piece of paradise, great food at good prices, the staff bent over backwards to see to our every whim, this lovely man kept popping up out of the blue with beach towels, to light... After reading comments posted on Trip Advisor we decided to make a reservation (3 nights) and paid our deposit. We were disappointed as when we arrived, after driving across Bali from Ubud, we discovered the place was substandard. It was under construction and inhabitable. The staff did not know we were coming and couldn't find the reservation. After we showed... More

villaagung, Owner at Villa Agung Beach Inn, responded to this review

As any of our guests, who have commented upon Villa Agung Beach Inn will attest, this accusation is grossly untrue. We have renovated the big cottage ONLY and due to rain and high winds, what was scheduled to be finished before Christmas, was delayed. All other rooms, totally refurbished, were available. When we have heavy rains, sap from the trees darken... More

This place was a real pleasure to stay at. Lovely rooms with an outdoor bathroom. Which is nice although you can hear your neighbors go to the loo too. The people that worked there were very nice and the owner is very helpful too. He even dropped me off in town as this is about three km away. The view... More
