We arrived after an a terrible motorway trip with a 3 yr old child to be told she would cost an extra £15 a night on top of our booking?? And when we got to the room the childs sleeping area clearly hasn't been inspected by Health and safety. So all three of us shared the smallest double bed I... more

Stayed here for one night, never again. We ordered a twin room for 2 people which we got. The room was clean but there was one towel for the 2 of us to use. The tv only has 3 channels working. There were clothes left in the drawers from a previous occupant, so you can tell that the room is... more

We can only add to the TERRIBLE reviews here. A once thriving Pub which drew people from far and wide, ruined by tacky furniture, foreign staff, and a complete lack of any replies to telephone calls. Try booking a room. Answerphone. Same with trying to book a table. Answerphone. Needless to say, neither ever get replied to. maybe they have... more

I & my family have stayed at this hotel on many occassions in the past & enjoyed the fantastic menu & general hospitality. On visiting the area again this month we phoned to book only to be told that accomodation is now £99 per night (was £60 when we visited 2 years ago) & even though we were proposing to... more

What was once a popular village hotel/restaurant with a cosy atmosphere has been completely ruined by the current owner. We have enjoyed several visits in past years for family gatherings and have fond memories of the excellent dinners and cosy drinks in the bar. We were therefore horrified when we went there recently for a meal and found that the... more

The room was adequate. However, we made the mistake of dropping in for lunch. It took 35 minutes for the drinks and appetizer to arrive. The food was overcooked, unappetizing and expensive. The decor in the restaurant is a mess. They've taken an old black and white wood paneled coaching house and painted it all a sickly cream. They've added... more

This hotel advertises breakfast being available to non-residents. My wife and I thought we'd try it, even though we knew it would be more expensive than the "greasy spoon" cafe at the top of nearby Telegraph Hill. I gulped as i read those prices. £9.95 for full English. Should of left then, but didnt. Me thought quality would be reflected... more
