As a Rule you'll Only stay over night in city of Qena in case of Business. You must understand that as you head South of Cairo in vast Upper Egypt region, Hotel services drop significantly. A strange exception was Hotel Basma in Qena. I rate as Best Hotel in Upper Egypt. With Exception of Touristic resorts in Luxor & Aswan... More

I stayed in both standard Nile view room and a pool/Nile view suit. Both are very Spacious and have plenty of space (suit was enormous and can easily accommodate 4 persons -or more with the two king size beds, large storage spaces, mini fridge, dressing table, working desk, a very large bathroom and such bathtub, and a sitting/living area with... If visiting the few places of interest in this area stay in Luxor. The room is spacious with enough storage space and a... More

We were driving from the Red Sea coast to Qena to visit Dendera Temple for the day and in search of a place to relax near the River Nile for a drink afterwards. The Basma Hotel is perfect for this. Tables, chairs and sun umbrellas are located right next to the Nile with views across to the opposite bank and... More

I like Qena! Somewhere in the course of human events, the citizens of Qena learned the responsibilities of a civil society - namely how to obey the rules of the road and how to pick up your trash after yourself. Located on the east bank of the Nile, as you approach the city from Luxor you enter under an archway... More
