We were so happy arriving here ! In the past we've always stayed at backpacker/dirtbagger type guesthouses and hotels, and it was starting to annoy my girlfriend, that much was clear. so i asked andaman adventures of thailand (found them here on tripadvisor) if they knew a place on Railay that could offer us more luxury, but the price had... Railay is a real mixed bag, ranging from the lovely beaches, breathtaking views and wonderful outdoor activities to piles of unsightly smelly rubbish and discarded construction materials which detract somewhat from the otherwise beautiful surroundings. Sunrise Resort is ideally located on East Railay handy to many of the restaurants and bars and only a 5 min walk across to the... More

A lovely quiet spot within easy walking distance to all of the restaurants, beaches and bars around Railay Beach. We were picked up at the airport and driven to the Krabi Pier, where we were took to the resort via long-tail boat, probably took around 45 mins from leaving the airport to arriving at the hotel. The rooms were nice,... More

Spent a few days here and the hotel, food etc were fine. Room smelt a bit musty and they said I could change but it wasn't so bad to bother. They were all helpful. It is a bit of an adventure getting to the hotel (very well arranged from the airport for a small fee) but that was part of... More

We visited Railay for two days and had dinner and lunch in the restaurant of Sunrise Tropical Resort. We really liked the food and even the prices are fair. But what was really a disappointment was the staff. They were very unfriendly , never smiled, their English is really poor (should not be perfect but in a touristic restaurant you... More

Definitely tricky to get to if you have lots of luggage! We struggled to drag our luggage on the sand upon arrival. The rooms are quite average, with a tiny TV and inconsistent hot water. It's a 5 minute walk to West Railay beach, where there's shops, restaurants and the sun sets over the water, which is beautiful, as the... More

Other resort staff at other restaurants etc. Seemed so much friendlier than ours. Never smiled, couldn't grasp simple concepts like charging food to the room. Other marks are lost because apart from the first night the room wifi was completely dead, with the reason being "this sometimes happens", and the shower in terms of water pressure, shower head, hot water... First things first if you have trouble walking or your old or disabled Railay is not for you, they do not cater for you. The only way onto the island is via long tail boat which docks 1.5 meters away from the shore, so youll get wet. And its hard to carry your bags etc without getting them wet. The... More

We stayed at sunrise for a quick weekend getaway with a small budget and this hotel fit the bill. Comfortable yet not lavish. Equipped well with room for improvement. We got a nice spacious villa for under RM250 a night which is great! The shower lacks water pressure and the heater was not consistent. Mosquitoes are a common problem and... More
