Good location, up on the hill a little but short walk to restaurants (need a torch at night on the way back!), quiet and peaceful place. Pool area is lovely with good views. Our first night in the basic Taiwan room was great, we got moved to a cottage for the last two days which was bigger, but less clean... More

The price is OK considering that it's in Railay. About 10 minutes up the hill from the east beach. The fan rooms are dumpy and old and in need of renovation. The air con rooms are apparently new and much nicer. The worst part is the terrible service. They don't care at all. Another guest was robbed and while I... More

Pros: BEAUTIFUL POOL FAST WIFI Cons: GROSS ROOMS ANTS BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE LOGGING INTO WIFI IS ANNOYING/TIME CONSUMING. SCARY AT NIGHT (poor lighting, no staff on premise) They recently underwent a renovation so I ignored the bad reviews thinking it would be fixed. Big Mistake. It's a shame because the view is so beautiful. But the rooms, ugh: Stained walls,... More

Me and my boyfriend travelled all around Thailand for 3 weeks and ended up in Railay half way through. We found Phutawan Resort and were amazed! We'd stayed in some nice places throughout our trip but this was the icing on the cake! The rooms are basic but are clean and have everything you need for a very good price.... More

We stayed in a basic air-con room, it was very clean and had everything we needed. Before heading to Railay, you need to be aware that accommodation is more expensive than other similar places. The pool was lovely, it became quite dirty over our stay, but when brought to the staffs attention they took care of it that afternoon. The... More

I had been staying in hostels and backpacker accommodation for 2 months, and decided to splash out on this hotel at the end of my trip. Lovely place, amazing infinity style pool (I gather that's new) and friendly staff. Only criticism is the lack of free breakfast. When you're paying that much it seems a bit cheeky to charge in... Having read most of the reviews for this place I noticed that most of the bad ones are for the wooden budget bungalows. Phutawan has three room levels, the lowest of which are the older B500 per night fan bungalows. Bear in mind that on Railay you will be very hard pushed to find accommodation this cheap and you do... I know I am in Thailand but never experienced worse staff. It was like they (lady boys in my opinion) were doing us a favor by taking our money. We stayed one night at 500 baht, which is fair for railay. The bungalow looked like it was gonna fall apart any day. And the towels they provided smelled like they... More

As a backpacker and the lack of cheap accommodations in Railay, I stayed 4 nights in a bamboo bungalow (500 baht) which was basically good value for Railay and the price. These bungalows looks close to collapse but are rather big. Note that you receive no upper sheet but a large towel. The rubbish bin were not emptied neither in... More

There is still lots of work going on here and unfortunately our cabin faced the building work. It’s not too noisy but if you were wanting a sleep in your probably not going to get it. Breakfast was pretty basic and delivered to our room due to the work going on. The main downfall was our bathroom, the shower was... More
