My review for this one actually includes two room types which is why it is rated average. The first room offered was a 'bungalow' type room. It was extremely basic but still had all the necessities. There was a problem with mosquitos, which is pretty typical in Thailand but the location of these huts or bungalows seemed to attract more... More

We stayed four nights at Phutawan. The quiet and view were definitely pros, but the walk to the beaches became a bit of a chore. We found the staff helpful and friendly and the bungalow was spacious. Breakfast was pretty terrible (which is normal for most places). We stayed here because of the excessive prices of accommodation elsewhere, so if... More

We booked a room for three people, one day in advance. We were picked up at the Long boat from koh lanta and a nice man had a wagon for our baggage. We were upgraded to a family room, huge, two double beds and nice balcony with a beautiful jungle view. The hotel passed our expectations- and the pool is... More

I stayed in this hotel with my Mum and a friend, and we were 'happy enough' with it most of the time. Please don't listen to people whining about the walk into town- it's seriously nothing. 5 mins to East Railay, 8 mins to West Railay and about 15 to beautiful Phra Nang beach. Yes, there is a hill. Suck... More

Just spent 8 nights at the resort and the view from the pool is spectacular! Make sure you ask for a pool/beach view though because the mountain view rooms don't have a balcony and can't sit outside or hang clothes out to dry. Bathroom water pressure was spasmodic as was the temperature. The receptionists are lovely as are the bar... More

They have 4 different types of accommodation for all kinds of budget. I stayed in the cheaper one - wooden bungalow. We payed 600baht and it's great value since you can use the swimming pool with a fab view over the ocean and a climbing spot. If you fancy climbing then you will have an amazing rock just next to... We came to Phutawan to get away from another resort on Railay East, the Anyavee, which turned out to be terrible. Phutawan saved us. The rooms were clean, the beds were more comfortable, and the room amenities were nice to have. We stayed in two different air-conditioned rooms. Both had a stocked mini-fridge with very reasonably priced snacks and drinks... More

While the hotel's location on the hill above the beaches initially seemed like a negative, it soon become a desired locale. The high elevation gives your great views from the pool and removes you from the crowds and noises of Railay East and West. Beware the walk up to the hotel -- the path from Railay West is strewn with... More

Stayed here for 2 of our 4 nights in Railay. The hotel is a 12 minute jaunt up a hill from the west beach and about 10 from the east. I think there are two parts to this hotel, and we stayed in the cheaper half which is just ok. We were here on a honeymoon, so the place was... More

Super swanky place, high up on the cover with a beautiful view. Close to the beach and centre but not directly in the middle so silence and space is in abundance. free breakfast with our room is such a treat!
