I arrived fairly late on the Sunday and although the bar was closed Peter & Kathy were more than happy to open up and let me have a couple of beers after what had been a fairly stressful journey. I found them to be a very friendly and helpful couple and nothing was too much trouble. The room was very... more

I originally booked with the previous owner before reading the Trip Adviser reviews, so I was a little worried, especially as travelling with clients on a work trip. Fortunately the hotel has been taken back over by the owners and the rooms really revamped. The couple who own the hotel (Peter and Kathy) are truly wonderful hosts, charming and warm... more

This place is a big no! no! The landlord wasn't that bad although a bit grumpy and none too interested in what he was supposed to be doing. The landlady was rude! arrogant! offensive and the list goes on. Accommodation is highly suited for Guinea Pigs. I have seen insect tanks in the zoo bigger than the room I got.... more

arrived at 3pm, the place was locked up, had to call for the landlord to come and check us in, (not a good omen- and it got worse) the outside was unkempt, (we should have just left) rooms were pokey, shabby and dirty, whole place was horrid and a disgrace, Customer service was non existence, the floors were absolutely filthy,... more

a lovely "Olde World" building. Both Graham and Sonja were freindly and welcoming. The room could have done with a spring clean as the carpet was dirty and stained. The evening food was really nice, couldn't fault it, but the breakfast, well let me put it this way, if you want your food swimming in grease have the full English,... more

Small and the landlady friendly enough. Bedroom biggest disappointment - felt uncomfortably unclean and very shabby. Amazed they can rent out such basic uncared for accomodation. Too pricey for what it is - bit greedy. There is no lighting at all in the car park and hard to find the entrance in the dark as not lit up either. Breakfast... more

We stayed at the said Bed & Breakfast in Sept 06. We found the landlady very rude, especially to our children, very unfriendly & arrogant. As for the accomadation just not up to standard, scruffy and smelly. The food we were informed by the waitress was brought at morrisons, and the starters she made herself as the restaurant was being... more

I was looking to stay in Stamford when I drove past the Oak Inn which is in a small village called Easton on the Hill just south of Stamford. It looked like, to me as an Australian, just like what I thought a traditional English pub should look like, so I gave it a go. It was one of the... more
