This is an actual working farm, and our hosts, Miriam and Patrick Mulcahey, couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating! From the delicious breakfasts in the farmhouse kitchen, to our great room, service was top notch. But more than that, it was like visiting with friends or relatives, very warm and friendly. And if you are in the area tracing... More

In August our family of four stayed at Ballinwillin House, we had two rooms in the annexe with en-suite which was tastefully decorated and clean. A very pleasant stay throughout our four nights we stayed. Our hosts Pat & Miriam whom were very welcoming & genuine people, a home from home to us. Would fully recommend to stay & will... More

We were looking for a place to stay outside of Cork and came across Ballinwillin House. From beginning to end, our experience was wonderful! Patrick and Miriam have a passion and love for all that they do and it comes across beautifully. The rooms are beautifully decorated with beds so comfortable and one of the best showers I've ever had.... More

we arrived here on friday for 1night stay, you get private entrance as you come in and plenty parking space so we were able to leave our vans and trailers in a safe place, both of the rooms were lovely just as advertised on booking.com as reading the reviews i did ask for the rooms in the annex building so... Three of my friends and I walked from Coast to Coast across Southern Ireland last year. We walked a marathon every day, so our various hotels were very important to us. One of the highlights of our adventure has to be Ballinwillin House in Mitchelstown. We had a fantastic evening, eating beautiful organic meats, drinking lots of organic red wine... More

From the moment u arrived I was made to feel very welcome. I was taken to my room which was very clean and spacious. Anytime I needed to go to town I was offered a lift despite the fact that this was not part of the nessesary service. Breakfast was served around (I assume) their kitchen table where I was... More

Our stay at the Ballinwillin House was perfect in every way, and we were sad that we could only stay one night. The farm is nestled in the back of a residential neighborhood, and it is within a 20-30 minute walk of several pubs. Dinner is offered on many nights, and the guest house is very clean and comfortable. The... More

My dad and I stayed here in september '13 and it was great! There was a slight mix-up when we first got there because Miriam forgot we had booked but once we drive up to the house it was all straightened out, no problem. We stayed in the separate building, there was plenty of space to park and there was... More

we had a very nice room, free parking, free WiFi, a few minutes from the center of town, the house is very impressive and the family tried to help us with getting info for our trip. very warm and generous family and overall we had a great experience.

First, the website (on Bookings.com) greatly over-sold the real experience. The photos were of the new annex of rooms, not the main house where we stayed. The location is good with access to the M8 tollway. The owners are friendly and even though Miriam runs the B&B, her son and her husband turned out to be the people we enjoyed... More
