We spend a 2 night weekend at this lodge. After a long drive from Johannesburg we arrived and welcomed by Andrew. Our suite was lovely clean and plenty of space with a lovely fireplace, the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom had a Jacuzzi bath and open shower and supplies of shampoos etc. The whole lodge has been built in... More

We really loved this place. The owners, Andrew and Connie, were lovely and Graham, the manager, was great. They take a lot of pride in what they have here, and it is apparent. The main building – dining room, bar, lounge – all impressive. Furnishings and fixtures are beautifully crafted. We had the Cave – definitely worth it – fabulous... More

Randomly selected Antbear Lodge for its location and oh boy did we win the jackpot!! Exceptional accommodation, wonderful staff and management team. The visit to Antbear was built up with anticipation! I travel to this area often With my hiking groups, but had not stayed at this particular lodge before. On arrival we were met by the manager and shown our quarters! We were tired after a long drive from St. Lucia. Dinner was greta and we appreciated the personal touches Andrews... More

Having booked accommodation at the very last moment at Antbear Lodge, my daughter and i was surprised to find that we were graciously received and at short notice. Our hosts were accommodating and the service was such that i would recommend the place to anyone else-in fact i have already done so. I had experienced a rather traumatic time and... More

We sdtayed two nights in Antbear Guesthouse and had a lovely and very big room with a great view. The whole furniture is handmade, very individual woodwork, which makes it very homelike. The view is amazing! You can enjoy the sunset from your room or the garden in front of it. It´s a peaceful place to stay. We liked it... More

We stayed in a lot of different places in SA over 4 weeks, but this was the best! It's quite unique and yet extremely comfortable. Our little house reminded me forcibly of a hobbit's. The woodwork alone is incredible never mind the stained glass in the front door and the mosaic on the wall of the shower. I absolutely loved... More

We spent two night in this amazing guest house with extraordinary decorated rooms. The room we had ( room #4 ) was very spacious. Next to the bedroom there was also a small living room with a couch and fireplace as well as a spacious bath room with shower and big bubble bath. All rooms are decorated with wood work.... More
