I loved this place so much - really clean neat and stylish rondawels with very hot water in the showers. Everything in the room was really cared for and well thought out. You wake up in the morning to the sound of birds in the garden. The cooking facilities were also of a very high standard and hey they encourage you... More

After hiking in the Drakensberg, we had the pleasure of pitching our tent at Inkosana. The host, Mr. Edmund Salomons has been running this place for years. He has hiked the 'Berg extensively and knows everything is worth knowing about the Berg. Very convenient, clean and well priced.

We have been going to Inkosana Lodge on a regular basis for years. It is one of the most atmospheric places i know. The owner Ed Salomons is larger than life with a strong artistic and architectural sense. Not only is he an accomplished painter and has tastefully decorated the lodge but he builds and experiments and has recently produced... More

During our trip through SouthAfrica we enjoyed four great days with Ed in Inkosana Lodge! The lodge is located in Central Drakensberg, near Winterton. Next entrance to National Park (Monk's Cowl) is approx. 7,5km from lodge. The scenery is absolutely wonderful and the atmosphere very kind and great! We stayed in one of the rondavels - simple, but clean and... More

This place is a small paradise in the middle of the Drakensberg mountains. a perfect basecamp for hikes in the region, the owner Ed is very friendly and helpful and gives great advice for hiking, climbing and transport. there is a huge herb garden where you can pick herbs for your tea, a natural pool to relax after a hike,... Unpretentious single storey accommodation in Champagne Valley in the central Drakensberg area. Hostel-type dormitories or separate chalets available. Simple whiolesome meals provided using fresh produce from the garden; good self-catering facilities also available - pick your own fresh herbs and leave the washing up to the staff. Wine and beer can be purchased. Excellent communal area with games. Good company... More

Set against the backdrop of the Drakensberg mountains this place is a real gem of a find. Luscious gardens, emaculately clean accommodation and communal facilities, friendly staff and an owner/host who is really keen to help and advise ... I'm not sure there can be anywhere better to stay in Central Drakensberg. It's hard to believe that this is "budget"... More

This could as easily be a small hotel as a hostel... if you pay for one of the affordable rondavels, you're practically in a boutique hotel, with stunning views, a lovely natural pool, a really gorgeous common room with meals prepared by the owner, a lovely garden out back and a bunch of really nice dogs. Feels like a home.... More

From the moment we arrived, we loved the place. The setting in the mountains is spectacular. We had a rondawel with its own bathroom, which is great value for money. The kitchen facilities are clean and the staff do the washing up for you. We had dinner there and loved the tasty homemade food - the dinner consisted of soup,... More

This place is awesome. Value for money you will be hard pressed to find a better deal out there this close to the park. Here are the pro’s: 1. Great price for accommodation and food. We ate dinner there twice and we enjoyed every meal. 2. Kitchen space is available with a fridge, toaster, water kettle and stove. We took... More
