We had two nights in one of the thatched rondavels. The accommodation was very atmospheric and comfortable, and great value. We paid to have meals prepared for us, but the self-catering facilities looked very good. The location is wonderful, with views all around the local Drakensburk mountains. The communal areas are very comfortable - an ideal place to exchange travel... More

My friends and I spent the weekend at Inkosana Lodge on a Drakensberg hiking excursion under the tutelage of Edmund the owner.I can't begin to explain the excellent service we received from Edmund. One of our friends was unable to take the trip with us due to unforeseen circumstances and cancelled at the eleventh hour. When this was explained to Edmund though... Picking fruit in the backyard, 360 view, friendly people, best lounge ever and cozy sleeping spaces. A few of my friends and I stayed at Inkosana for a few days and it was the best part of a trip through the Draks. If you need somewhere to recharge your battery, go here for sure.

I have stayed at Inkosana Lodge twice. Once on my own for a night in a rondavel, using shared ablutions. And once with my family in a dormitory room, also with shared ablutions. The accommodation is basic and functional, but clean and tasteful. The ablutions and kitchen are clean and the kitchen is well stocked with necessary cooking utensils to... More

After my visit at Lesotho (via Underberg/Sani pass), I had a spare day left. The Sani lodge (at the border with Lesotho) advised me to pay a visit to the Inkosana Lodge in Champagne Valley (Cathkin Peak in the west and Loskop in the east). From the N3 highway at exit 179, it's a 20 minutes’ drive to the lodge.... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Ed's place. Just a few km from splendid hiking into the Drakensberg (signposting of the trails could be a bit better). Ed and his staff serve you a tummy filling breakfast with cereals, porridge, very nice boiled guave, home baked, juice, bread and nice jam. For supper they served nice and tasty homemade soups,... We stayed here in cosy Rondavels for 4 nights in July. Ed the owner was extremely warm and hospitable. He had great local knowledge of local routes for hiking for all levels of experience. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable, with extra blankets available if needed. Shared bathroom facilities were good. Clean outdoor (but private!) rain showers. Very well... More

We were only here one night and stayed in a rondavel with shared bathroom. Room was clean and comfortable, though a bit overpriced in comparison to other hostels around. Owner was very helpful with maps and hiking information. We self catered in the well equipped kitchen, but frustrating when they ask you to leave your dishes for staff to wash,... More

My wife and I initial booked the Lodge for 5 nights of our honeymoon trip. But due to the dynamic nature of our honeymoon adventure we decided to leave early. I might add it was nothing to do with the Lodge at this time or the owner. However, when I did strike up the conversation with the owner that we... More

The booking was made over a period of time with many changes that I accommodated happily. The guests arrive 24 hours late with never an apology. I confirmed there period of day when they arrived( Other bookings were turned away ) Then a day later I was abruptly told they were leaving . I had done everything to try to... More

Beautiful location, extremely friendly staff, and good food. Near the "Monk's Cowl" area of the Drakensbergen - where we did some wonderful hiking trails - this lodge provides great views of the mountain range, a natural pool and lots of space for recreation and barbeques. The lodge offers communal meals each night (great for meeting other travellers and exchanging tips... More
