Staying here made me feel like I was welcomed into a family and introduced to the village. There is a wonderful traditional homely atmosphere to the place and warm welcomes from the family who run it. This accommodation and the food available in the village at Vegera made Zaros one of most enjoyable and memorable places I stumbled upon in... More

Great breakfast, friendly people. Been there twice... It won't be the last time. A quick note, check your reservation. Some booking methods don't charge you and they will expect you to have euros. There is an ATM very close. Take the short hike up to the source of most of Crete's bottled water. There is a small bar and children's... More

Every good thing I read about Hotel Keramos and Zaros has proven true or better. I came to Zaros to relax and catch up on journaling and arrangements for the next legs of my journey. So, I spent most of my time on the private terrace off my room. And walking around the corner to very nice cafes, to eat... More

This simple, family-run hotel provides clean, airy rooms (with wi-fi), genuinely warm and friendly service and an absolutely fabulous breakfast. In addition to a buffet with delicious local products such as honey from the mountains and thick creamy yoghurt, Kyra Katharina, the lady of the house, is a prize-winning baker. As you can see from the photos that others have... More

Keramos Hotel is well run. The owner does not speak english, but her son and daughter in law who serve breakfast, and her niece from the nearby Vegera restaurant do. Communication is not a problem. Just understand that you are expected to accept the offer a coffee/drink and a snack on your arrival before any of the formalities are completed.... More

This was our fourth stay at Keramos. As always, the welcome was warm, the room clean and comfortable and the generous breakfast lasted us all day, thanks to the take-away service provided. The wifi worked well and it was very helpful that we were sent an email advising us how to drive to Zaros because the usual road was closed.

There can be no more hospitable a nation than the Cretans and nobody more hospitable in Crete than Katerina and her lovely family. We stayed with them for 14 days in March and were taken care of beautifully from start to end. Such was their care for their guests, even before we got there ,we had an urgent e-mail to... More

When we arrived at the well signposted Keramos Hotel in the small mountain village of Zaros, our lovely 'yaya' (grandma / hostess) immediately greeted us with coffee and sweets. Our room on the second floor (there is a lift) was well proportioned, comfortable and clean with a balcony overlooking a small side street. All the restaurants in the village were... More

This brilliant and personal bed and brekfast place should be visited. Excellent nice reception by the hosts - a nice older lady, who obviously have put their honor that people should be happy and feel welcome. That they have the "most famous" breakfast on Crete is not bragging - but true! Had we been there a week we would probably... More
