We usually work on the basis that the world is big place and therefore choose a different destination for our holidays. However Eleonas was so enjoyable in 2012 we returned this summer. There is a new pool bar and they now offer half board but the fantastic location, excellent friendly service and hospitality remains exactly the same. We have no... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in July on a half board basis and seeing as we had stayed here before we were so excited to return. We werent disappointed, on arrival we were given a complimentary drink to cool us down and then taken to our accommodation, we were given one of the loft rooms/houses which has two levels... More

We spent a week here in August 2014. It was excellent in every way. The hotel is well designed so that the suites are not overlooking one another. We had a family suite which was very nicely done inside. The rooms have wifi but it is a bit slow and can be temperamental at times. The pool is great, never... More

If you are looking for a peaceful place to stay in Crete, then this place is for you. The cottages are clean and are located above the mountain town of Zaros. I opted to pay for the half board which included breakfast and dinner, and I'd have to say that the meals were very good. One night we had live... More

What a lovely spot! The inn is tucked in at the foot of the mountains, with terrific views of rolling hills and olive groves to the south, which is the wilder and less busy side of the island. Nice rooms with lots of privacy, reasonably priced, beautiful shaded restaurant dining area with delicious food. Our teenage boys enjoyed the pool... More

Wow! Eleonas cottages are nestled in the gorgeous hills of Crete. We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 day stay and wish we could have stayed longer. The price was reasonable, especially since the buffet breakfasts (delicious) and fabulous dinners were included. One evening the family danced traditional Greek dances with live music. They even got us up dancing - we loved... More

This is a piece of heaven on earth. Eleonas was in the middle of a gorgeous setting, made even more gorgeous by the care and beautiful landscaping taken by its owners. We were welcomed after a 24 hour trip from Seattle to a lovely hacienda-type bungalow with two balconies overlooking grand mountains and olive groves. When we woke up after... More

Wonderful location high in the hills and surrounded by beautiful gardens, very tasteful and comfortably designed cottages. The whole feel relaxed and low key, and I love the honesty bar by the pool. Delicious food in the taverna. Friendly and professional staff and great local hikes through the hills. Totally worth persevering with the unmade road from Zaros village (via... More

Great place to relax, away from all tourist area, find a peacefull and beautiful place in the mountains without being cut off from our day to day comfort (very good free wifi coverage on all the site, not crazy prices at the mini bar or at the poolbar). Benefit of the Cretan hospitality with people that are always one step... More

We have just had a very enjoyable 7 night holiday at Eleonas Cottages. The 1km road up from Zaros is in poor state of repair but once you reach the property you enter a different world. Our cottage was extremely comfortably furnished and decorated to a high standard using traditional materials in an elegant yet simple style with a comforable... More
