Pitres is a fine base to explore the southern flank of the Sierra Nevada. The town is quite small and quiet, but it is close to several of the best hiking trails on the south side of the range. A group of friends average age mid fifties arranged a few days hillwalking based here. I had stayed for a weekend with spanish friends previously. I organised the guide who in turn arranged the minibus which met us at Malaga airport. We had a fantastic couple of days hillwalking and were thrilled with the accomodation and the welcome we received....
